My dad's side of the family is not even a little creative. All males either have the name of Anastasios or Panagiotis, which are Greek for Tom and Peter, respectively. My dad is Constantinos (Gus) because his father was Panagiotis, and his older brother was Anastasios, so the third, extra, name was used. Seeing as Panagiotis hadn't been used for awhile (and the rule is to name the son after the grandfather), I was Panagiotis, until I turned 17, at which point I said "Screw it. I have never used Panagiotis, hell, I can't even spell Panagiotis. I'm legally changing it to Peter, which is what I always use anyway."
By the way, I really couldn't spell Panagiotis until my drivers permit exam. I used Peter, I am Peter, I have always been, as far as I am concerned, Peter. And now, legally, Peter is my name, and not Panagiotis. Thank god.
