overly-zealous. Though they probably have a clause somewhere in their that leaves Sumo Wrestlers alone. Granted I personally think that Japan is trying to get their entire population to resemble anime extras.....if so then we are all doomed.

I REALLY hope they come to their senses and realize that waist size can also scale with height.

I am wondering at what point a do-good, nosy government becomes fascism. But since government (to my understanding) controls the health care industry there, they do have a right to tell you what to do in exchange for the service.

Wow that's scary, I have a 32inch waist and that puts me dangerously close to their legal limit.

The thing is, I'm 6'4" and quite slim. Limits that don't take into account the height of the person really don't make sense. Even in Japan where the average height variance is very low.

I think I can speak for pretty much everyone on these forums when I say.
Lulz. That is all.
Too true. But how can someone be fined for being fat. Being fat was actually smiled at not too long ago actually. Now being fat is evil and it makes the person evil too.... shame these days. But I agree with the quote ^

Lol good!

We should adopt that in America for a year... somebody call Obama.
Create a maximum waistline in both "the land of the free" and the worlds most overweight nation? Somehow i dont think that'd go down too well
So what... in a year from now when everyone is all trim and sexy we will look back and realize it was all worh it.
I'm not saying being thin is bad, im saying that a)a very large minority of people wont stand for it, and b) some would rather just pay the fine then work it off

Whats wrong with being fat anyway? i can see the problem with being like, huge, as in cant fit into aircraft seats, and not fitting through doorways, but moderatly fat isnt BAD is it?

Only if your dream is to look good in a Speedo.

Of course it is to some degree. It's harder on your heart and joints, the better shape you are in the healthier you are, and the healthier you are the longer you will usually live.....usually. But just a little chubbiness is ok I imagine.
