If they fix CoD 4 I don't think I'd need to buy MW3. Good to see that they know what worked and what didn't, regardless of fixes to old games I'm looking forward to the new game and really hope more thought's gone into the multiplayer than previous CoD games.

Okay, you need to seriously educate yourself in how developing a game works. The publishers do not decide every single detail. Bobby Kotick does not make IW sit down at a table with him so that he can talk about what perks should be in the game and how they should be totally imbalanced so people will get mad. Furthermore, how IW handled community suggestions with MW2 does in no way warrant such scorn for them finally correcting that now. If anything, this shows that they've learned from past mistakes and are willing to improve.
No, they don't. But the general idea of what a game should be about is given. The design process is also decided by Activision and any change to the formula is not made without their approval.

And how does it not warrant such scorn? They released a flawed, shitty game and now they're promising greatness? I'm sorry if I'm not extremely trusting of someone who basically shat on not only PC gamers but gamers world wide. Just because Activision is promising something does not mean it will actually happen and removing a few perks does not actually go a long way to correcting what actually made the game shit in the first place. I'm not a cynic, I'm a realist. People lie, they always have and corporations even more so. Giving their previous track record I'm not going to buy into the hype that IW or rather Activsion is trying so hard to instil. When I see the finished product I'll decide whether or not their promises actually came through but as it stands this is nothing BUT a marketing ploy.

So Da Vinci only painted Mona Lisa so that he could pay the bills? Beethoven only created symphonies to get down with the ladies? Millions of people study theater, music, film, and video game development not because it has any value to them but because they want to get cash? Developers care about making good games. Developers are emotionally invested in making a game that people will enjoy. It's childish of you to think that the gaming industry is one big, blank face without care for anything other than personal wealth. The gaming industry is filled with real people, who believe in and love what they do.
Yes because every single developer in the world treats the development process as anything BUT a job. Developing games is a job like any other and is not comparable to painting which is a whole different cookie. Do you think developers wake up in the morning looking forward to an amazing work day? Developing a game is no different than working in a fucking cubicle. In fact, IT'S THE SAME FUCKING THING. Have you seen in what conditions these people are forced to work in or have you forgotten the EA Spouse affair?

Why do you think developers actually go to work everyday? Do you think they give a shit about what gamers think of their game? They get paid to do their job and that's what they're doing. In the end, even if they created a masterpiece all the money made from selling that game will go to the publisher, the one who commissioned the developers in the first place.

Why do you think anyone goes to work nowadays? Do you actually believe everyone who goes to work is emotionally invested into what they do? What makes being a developer so special from other jobs?

quick question, what is "quickscoping" and "killwhoring"?
Quickscoping:

Exploiting the auto lock mechanic in order to aim down a sniper sight very quickly and get a shot off on the enemy as the auto lock kicks in.

Tends to accompanied by players showboating, spinning in circles, dying a lot, getting stuck on ladders, having squeaky voices, not playing objectives and generally being a nuisance.

Killwhoring:

Ignoring objectives to build your killstreak and preserve your kill/death ratio.

Problem with MW2 is that doing this actually benefits players due to the stacking streaks and the nuke.

Because guns don't lock on at all.

To be completely honest, I don't give a flying fuck how well I do, I have fun most of the time while playing, and if I can get close enough to you to knife (I never use commando, it's a disgraceful perk), you deserve to be dead.
You can't deny that the knife is overpowered in MW2. Fun story: I used to play Counterstrike on my friends laptop in upper sixth when he was in Biology and I had free periods. It was against bots, and I used a knife all the time because I was just messing around and it was hilarious. I maybe got 1 kill if I was lucky out of 35 minutes to an hour of solid play. When I first played my housemates MW2 game at uni I decided to play limiting myself to using only the knife, and had to stop because about halfway through my first ever match I was nearly winning it!

Other times I've been killed while falling off a building, halfway to the ground, knifed by a guy still standing in the corridor, I watched my friend get knifed by a guy at the bottom of a stairwell, which he managed to magically teleport up the full thing through a hail of submachinegun fire.

It needs fixed to keep the balance and fairness of the game at an acceptable level, negating cheap and glitched kills as much as possible. I understand that you prefer to have fun over your kill count, and I think that's awesome for you to have that attitude, but the overpowered, glitched nature of the weapon you are using is despised by many other players, and you have to admit that it is too powerful in close quarters.

If they're listening to fans, why are there still no dedicated servers? Sorry working on it doesn't count.
Sorry for the double post... but they are talking about releasing dedicated servers, as well as mod tools. Check the PCG website.
Yeah about that, I recall they saying they would later patch MW2 dedicated servers. So I take it with a grain of salt.

Hey guys, look what he said in response to someone asking why they should buy MW3 instead of BF3-

You should be buying both because they both will be stellar games. I refuse to say one ill word of Battlefield 3 or DICE because I think they're both fantastic and am good friends with several of the guys on the team.
If you are a shooter fan, they are both fantastic games to own because of one reason. They are different.

Each do their own thing in a fantastic way and it is refreshing to have the option for both styles.

I have a question.

Is COD:MW3 going to not be a clone of COD:MW? I'm serious with this question. I was a big fan of COD 1 and COD:MW, two very revoltionary games that did a lot for the industry, but recently the games have been more like expansion packs then actual full games, they could have done the same things by just updating the game with a substantial patch.

I'd like some assurance that COD:MW3 isn't just a clone you see.
Actually you're almost guaranteed a clone with some modifications. It's like EA sports selling a roster update...

Unlike DICE, he actually doesn't say "mai game is bettur, hurr hurr". I am buying MW3 just for this.

You're just better off skipping out on these releases then.

No, no. I love both series to the death. I was pondering which game I should buy first. But sometimes one party's massive ego turns me down. I really dislike it when someone claims their game will be better, before the release of both of them. Why don't they just shut up and let us see and decide for ourselves once the games come out?

last time i checked people complained that MW2 has over powerd sniper rifles and noob tubes
solution- MW3 has a grenade launching sniper

not sure how that is listening
Quick-scoping is currently unchanged but explosives have been considerably reduced in power. Consider them nerfed.

but...but....i liked second chance....
In my opinion if someone gets killed by a guy lying stationary on the ground, with only a pistol, then they deserve to be killed :D

I know I rarely got killed by Second Chance. I never found it annoying at all.
It was the only way I could play medic. It was also the closest thing to realism we were going to get, since when has 50 bullets to the head, chest and groin made someone die instantly, eh?

OT: I think I'll be calling it quits with CoD after this one, I just can't be bothered with it anymore, the saturation point has been reached. If the game happens to be in my house then I'll give it a shot, but I won't be showing much interest in the game post-release. Pre-release material on the other hand will still be interesting to watch.

I still like what they're doing with the game, although I am saddened by the loss of being able to play medic occasionally. I'm glad that the knife and explosives have been nerfed; while they were fun, they ruined the game for a lot of people. Spec. Ops also sounds like it's going to be amazing, I can't wait to get my hands on that.
