Jesus, you sound ancient. Haha, I guess gaming (or the message boarding portion of it) is something more suited for the "younger" generations. Am I saying "old" people can't be tech savvy? Goodness no, just that there seems to be less appeal in coming to a site like the Escapist.

You'd be surprised. You know, being 30+ actually doesn't mean we change a whole lot from when we're in our 20s, just means we're a bit more experienced and (hopefully) wiser than we used to be. In a way I'm kind of relieved I'm not the oldest, not that I thought I was, because there's still this silly stigma against grown men playing video games because (oh crap... here it comes) in my day games really were a newfangled kind of entertainment mostly appealing to children and the niche out there. If not for people like us, who knows what the industry would look like today.

Sometimes I forget how young some of you are though.

Oh no, I've played myself off as a youngin. I'm actually in the "between" stage, where my girlfriend gets annoyed with my game playing at times, but it's still an overly social thing at parties an such. I'd actually prefer "ancient" people like you playing online than the twelve year olds who scream into the mic when they get a kill. Frankly, older players will always be welcome and I'm glad to have a generally more mature group of people to talk to here on the site. Kudos on the "in my day" tidbit as well, it made me feel like a teenager again.

Incidentally, my brother, who you know as Fniff is 12, but he got suspended for a year because you have to be 13 to post on the forums. Sad.

The youngest person I've ever seen on here was 10 years old, but because I wouldn't want them to be suspended for 3 years, I shan't reveal their name.

I too, am only 17. I feel as though life shall be more fun when I turn 18 no matter how many times I am told that is not the case
