Best Voice Acting: Yeah probably Mass Effect or maybe Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.

Worst Voice Acting: I can only pick one? Then I'm going with Shenmue. "Do you like my jacket? It's made of MONEY!"
I thought some of Shenmue's voice acting was okay. I look at it like I look at kung fu movies. Quite a bit of campiness with the dubbing, but still good movies.

Best is GTA4 because there are so many voices, so many samples, it honestly feels like an entire city of people.

Worst for Oblivion for the exact opposite reason: 14 voices are not a world.
14 voices? Try something closer to 4.

Every single Japanese RPG I've ever played...

Honourable mention: Devil May Cry.

Best:
Halo as a series
Bioshock
Mass Effect
Gears 2
Grand theft auto 4
Saint's row 2
Portal
Half Life 2

Worst:
Turok
King Kong (I love the game but at points it is overdone to high hell)
Ninety nine nights
Dead Rising (though it's so bad it's funny)
Pretty well all agreed there though add Metal Gear to the bad column (sorry David Hayter) because of the poor delivery and writing. And anything Capcom.

Best: Bioshock, GTAIV

Worst in recent years: Oblivion - dull and repetitive voices

Worst ever (that I can remember right now): Grandia - so horrible that it was funny, even by the standards of the era (good game otherwise)

I'll agree with this list, but i'm switching Saints Row 2 with Saints Row.

I mean, Saints Row 1 Had Keith David, Micheal Rapaport, and Micheal Clarke Duncan.
but, on the other hand, SR2 had Doogie Howser and Lieutenant Worf.

I play mostly mainstream titles these days, so I have a limited scope but:

Best: GTA 4 had mind-blowing voice acting, and hours upon hours of it. KoToR was also exceptional.

Worst: Oblivion, for the sheer repetitive stiffness of the 4 voices used among hundreds of characters. Starting out with Patrick Stewart only raised everyone's expectations to dash them all the more savagely. An utter travesty. Chaos Wars, which I never played, probably is the worst I ever heard, albeit second-hand via YouTube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAtC1SzWSXg

Fable's voice acting wasn't that bad, but I can't think of any games that really do excel in voice acting. I guess Halo is pretty good.

Worst voice acting: Rumble Roses and Armored Core 4.

Best for me would be Mass Effect, so much quality voice acting, plus the line "Dont piss in my ear and tell me its raining!" lol

Worst has to be Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) *shudder*

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver serieses. Good, good stuff. Pretty much anything Tony Jay or Jennifer Hale touches is golden, also.

It's hard coming up with something worse than RE. How about Captain America and the Avengers on the Genesis?
"You can't escape!"
"YOU will be the one escaping!"
