I'm not saying i'm super talented but it gets to the point where other people only have 2 options. They would want to be like you or wish that your talent ceases to exist. In my experience people usually take the second option. I've learnt that boasting also makes people take the second option. I remember acting stupid to get people to like me. Basically, I was bitching to my head chef because he always called me in to cook when someone else got sick. I asked him why he always called me, and he told me that statement.
I asked him what the hell that meant, and he said "Whenever you're good at something, people will always come to you, because you're good at it. Why would I ask the guy that sucks?"
This statement has been true ever since I started working. And, yes, it still sucks.
