I'm gunna have to say 'The Lord of the Rings Trilogy' board game (based on the films), simply because of its smooth transition from screen to table-top and still managing to feel epic!

Huh, haven't heard of this one, but I've played LOTR Risk before...it was okay, but nothing on the original.

Anyone know any good websites to play some of these games against peers?

When im at a certain friends house, me and him and his brother and a bunch of other friends play our version of monopaly.

Pretty much, if someone els wasnt your property you can sell it to them, this leads to finacial disputes and all that crap. It really depens the game, of course thats not even the tip of the ice berg for explaining it would take too long.

I'm very fond of board games, though I rarely have the opportunity to play them.

Scattergories, Boggle, Taboo, and Clue are probably my favorites. I'll throw in Pictionary, because of the inevitable fights. Quelf is also enjoyable (especially to watch), though a bit long.

What about Blockus? I remember playing that once and having a great time!

Settlers of Catan hates me. It's great fun, but I never get resource (regardless of how well placed my cities are).

Risk is fun for a while, but gets old fairly quickly. Both rummikub and cluedo are good fun, I guess one of those would be my favorite.

Personally, it's a toss-up between Go and Acquire. I almost never get to play Acquire, though, since nobody else I know likes it. I can see their point, but I still enjoy it.

Oh, or a hybrid game my friends and I came up with, a mix between Settlers of Catan and 40k.

Even after all these years, I still find Arkham Horror immensely entertaining. A bit complex at first, but really fun.

Robo Rally and Carcassonne deserve to be mentioned also.

Chess, if you write interesting and diverse backstories to each of your pieces, and fashion small, colourful hats for them which reflect their personality, interests and possibly sexual orientation.

Risk is rediculous, by turn 10 I had 250 reinforcments.

Zombies!! [http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/2471/zombies] (awesome little game)
Diplomacy (if you got a few days.....)

I actually have a copy of anti-monopoly here, I shit you not. Never found enough ppl willing to try it, though.

Cluedo wins out for me. I've been known to get a bit too into the detective role, however :/
