Deus Ex.

After all of that you're hit with what I consider the best set of moral choices I've ever seen in a game.

Ooh this is a tough one...I really liked the ending to both Mass Effects, especially 2. Obviously I really liked the ending to Portal 2 (both songs are just epic). And the ending to Paper Mario: TTYD was great.

But if I had to pick, I'd go with Half Life 2-Episode 2. It was an absolute monster of a cliffhanger...but that didn't immediately sink in, because of how emotional it was. That's the most powerful moment I've ever experienced in gaming.

The Legend of Dragoon on the PS1 by a long way for me. First RPG I ever finished and at the time the graphics on the movie clips were phenomenal (despite said movie clips being far too few and far too far between).

I loved the endings of Tales of Vesperia, Skies of Arcadia, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Phantasia and Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals. It's hard to single out any of them.

For fuck's sake, people, use spoiler tags.
OT: Both Portal games, Solitaire, Mega Man Battle Network 3 (shut up, that game was awesome), and World in Conflict is decent. Oh, and I almost forgot, for such a bland franchise, the ending of Halo Reach is without exaggeration one of the best ever.
You like the MegaMan Battle network series to!? I loved those games when I was younger and still love them, especially the 3rd one (which did have an awesome ending).

OT: The ending to Uncharted 2 was good, the endings in the Prince of Persia trilogy were pretty epic, and fallout 3 was also awesome.

There is this little Super Mario World hack called "Rise To The Challenge". It's story is a brilliant deconstruction of Mario games and hacks, where Mario goes through level world after world with empty castles seemingly constructed for a future game, and features message boxes with rambling a emo-ish poetic existential inner monologue where Mario questions the point of his adventures. And the ending is brilliant.
After passing the final level, Mario decides his life is worth it after all, and decides to press on to whatever lies ahead... at which point he clears the level and ends up looping back to the first level of the hack in the OW. No credits, no cutscene, it's just as if he cleared the world and moved on.
I am sure there have been other games like that. I just think it's cool because it takes a character and franchise we all know and love, and completely looks at it from a new perspective. It's particularly meaningful for me because of the connection it has with not only the Mario fanbase, but romhackers as well. I guess a hack doesn't really count but eh.

I know it's a bit cheesy now, but COD World at War;
Lets face it whatever you might have been expecting, you probably
weren't expecting zombies, nazified or otherwise! Happy days.

Gran Turismo is quite beautiful, but your'e screwed if your not into cars.

Bioshock, Legacy of Kain (ps2), Gods, Heimdal & Room 13 (all amiga),

The 2nd call of juarez had a nice little bittersweet ending, with a nice message about family and religion.

The good ending for another code/trace memory is extremely well-written, with fantastic BGM. It can still make me cry at times.

For absolute ultimate shock twist ending, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories just takes the cake. It makes you look back on all the events in the game, and in the end, everything that happened now makes such painful sense. Simply beautiful.

Am I the only one who absolutely loves the cascade of cards?
I LOVE THE CARDS!
As for my best ending answer.... I think GTA IV. The last 2 missions I found SO DIFFICULT, I spent the whole day trying them, failing, get angry and turning of my Playstation, when I FINALLY did it I felt relieved but also completely demoralized. But so much achievement! <3
