The ending of Shadow of the Colossus stuck with me more than anything.

Even more than the moral questions and ideas of self-sacrifice that the games conclusion raises, my favorite part was when Wander gets sucked into the pool of light. You can grab onto the stairs to stop yourself from sliding back, but you can't move forward and your grip meter is constantly dropping and sooner or later you have to let go. It was a colossus that could not be defeated. And it was beautiful.

The ending of The Longest Journey. Comes suddenly and clobbers you over the head with a neither downer, nor really all that good ending. It's a realistic ending, yet it still feels heartrending, when you finally get there.

Portal 2:

GlaDOS really start liking Chell, but five seconds later she erase that part of her and let Chell go because has easier than try to kill her...again.... And she have equal or bigger chance of dying herself...again...
But anyways, the companion cube isn't dead. I was so happy when I saw him at end... And the end song closes with a Golden Key.(Better even that Still Alive if you ask me.)

Portal 2 had a great ending.

So did Kingdom Hearts 2 (despite the rest of the game being something of a letdown).

I like endings that give that level of closure.

I haven't seen many good ending because too many games end with a to be continued garbage at the end of the credits. Although Link to the Past was possibly the best because of the sense of accomplishment you feel from the great music and seeing everyone again.

I'm gonna have to throw my hat in for Portal 2. Words cannot describe how awesome that was. Second and third place go to Call of Duty 4 and Dead Space 2, respectively, because the former left me weeping bitter tears while the latter left me physically shaking and laughing with relief over Isaac's survival. And, as a bonus, the two worst endings I've seen in a game belong to none other than Fallout 3 and Bioshock, both of which left me feeling like I'd been cheated (especially considering how good the beginnings of both those games were).

Portal 2
Fable: TLC
Mafia 2 (I really don't see the hate for this one)
KoTOR (Light Side, very powerful ending imo)
Saint's Row 2 (Sheer Badassery)

Planescape: Torment. The final ending is the same for good and evil characters, but I think it's more powerful if you played good.

Portal. The song is pure win.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, especially if the Sarcophagus gets opened. (Not really a spoiler, is it? I've been waiting the whole game to see it happen.) I got the Camarilla ending the first time around, by the way. That one's pretty funny, too, as long as you get the reference.

I also loved the ending of Soul Reaver 2, but I played it after I'd played Defiance.

Epic. I didn't see them all that often, though. Mostly when my mother played.

I would have to say, even though I don't like a lot of the community that plays it:

Out of the most recent games I played, Castlevania: Lord of Shadows, and Enslaved both had amazing endings. Just go watch the endings on youtube. or better yet, PLAY THE GAMES!

EDIT- Dead Space's ending truly just put me in awe, and Fable 3 was so close to having a good ending, and then it was ruined. Red Deads made me cry, and there better be a sequel for Alan Wake.

Read Dead Redemption. Such a perfect way to wrap up that game. Portal 2 was also really good. I've got a feeling Mass Effect 3 will have the most epic ending ever.

halo reach was pretty amazing, And I though even though it wasnt much of a twist, the presentation in portal 2's ending made it my favorite

Portal 2, Crisis 2, Mass Effect, Halo 3, and Halo Reach all have fantastic endings imo.

But the one I particularly hold up is Mass Effect 2, the ending where everyone survives. There's a great sense of achievement in the thought that I lost none of the characters because I really liked them all (even the ones no-one else seems to) and the sense that I've prepared the best I can for the Reaper invasion, but then it cuts to the Reaper fleet descending on the galaxy and you know that everything still hangs in the balance. On top of that, it's just so goddam pretty!

Dues Ex: Invisible War. I got to give the entire world Super Powers. Everybody was equal, deal with it.

Silent Hill 2 wins for being extremely shocking and outright amazing in every way.
Doom wins for being extremely simple, fun, and outright epic.

Mass Effect 2.Say what you want but it was one of the best endings I have seen in years.Left you feeling like you accomplished something. You were also left with a feeling of dread and grim determination when you seen what lies in store for Mass Effect 3.

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Absolutely beautiful ending. I don't find it to be that much of a cliffhanger (which seems to be the general consensus among people who have played and finished the game). I don't think things get resolved in a neat little bow like everyone expects, but I don't think it was that much of a cliffhanger. I like how it ends. A lot.

This video is only part of the ending. It leaves out what happens to Zoe after Faith. There are a couple of cinematics after this one, one with Helena and Zoe, one with an ending for a villain, and a final one with Zoe still in her coma doing a very beautiful monologue.

And the quote is horribly sad in context. I can't seem to find a video of the full ending and I'm too lazy to keep searching. This is my favorite moment in the game. I love Wonkers so much.

Wonkers the Watilla (intelligent robotic purple gorilla): Is she asleep?
Helena Chang (just after she injects Zoe with something that puts her in a permanent coma) : She is.
W: I'll stay here and watch over her.
H: You should.
W: Maybe when she wakes up, she'll want to play a game with me.
H: Maybe.
W: I would like that very much.
