Timesplitters Future Perfect, what other game did you get to kill gingerbread men, dinosaurs, evil clowns with a shotgun or a laser rifle, or a bat?

Or maybe Team Fortress 2, what other game gets awesome updates for free now a days?
GMOD,CS:S,DoD:S,etc.
Yes but now you're fighting valve games with valve games, that makes me confused and need guidance. Oh hell Doom for the sega genesis's 32X, it's the best version because it has blast processing (I know it's the worst version)

Halo 3

Metroid Prime is close though.

Also, don't capitalize every word. It Is Annoying To Many People. And welcome to the Escapist.

I would have to go with the Halo trilogy. But it is tied with Bioshock, I love them both so much see so I can't decide.

Timesplitters is an excellent example of a fun easy to pick up FPS, it may lack any real depth to the story like most FPS games are trying to incorporate these days, but the humour is some of the best in video games.

But you can't deny the excellence of the likes of COD4, Unreal, Goldeneye and Half-Life.

But that's like trying to fight with the same fire that's on the same torch, I mean sure it's a nice torch but how do you get that going? You'd have to separate it but then that's ruining a good thing.

CoD4 was the most addictive for me, so I guess that. It currently holds the record for "longest shooter before selling." Eight months.

Halo: CE

*Puts on Flame Shield*

....and now we play the waiting game.
That game sucks, let's play hungry hungry hippos!

Seriously though, best FPS...for console I'd have to say Goldeneye, PC would be either of the Half Life games (eg. 1 & 2).

Or maybe the Serious Sam games if you're in the right mood. :p

in no particular order, fallout 3, half life 2 and episodes, portal, cod4, bioshock.

loved them all to bits, and if anyone hadn't noticed, the fallout 3 dlc 'the pitt' is on the xbl marketplace now, unsure about other platforms.

Perfect Dark.
If only the one on Xbox didnt suck, and had more or less the same multiplayer system.
The only thing that game truly needs, is a re-release without the slowdown, and online multiplayer, co-op and counter-op mode (I mean seriously, who comes up with counter op mode? That guy needs a hand shake).

This thread is pretty much sure to have been done before, but I'll throw out here early on:
Half-Life 2.
Physics, story, pacing, characterization, fun, etc. are all unparalleled.
i have to go with half life 2 also
