Persona 3 FES on the Playstation Store. It's a 100 hour JRPG with great characters and story, so what's not to like?

You can also get the Binding of Isaac on Steam for $5. It's a great twin-stick shooter with tons of replayability. It's hard as nails, too.

My local Best Buy has Driver San Francisco marked down for $10. It's some yellow tag sale going on to clear out old games. I'd check one of those first.

Thanks for the heads up, and to everyone's suggestions! I guess I can slog through the next few days catching up on my netflix queue, if only to check out what they have available for sale this weekend.
You should also checkout GamersGate.com it is like steam but with a bigger selection, many of their sales are better, and you don't have a shitty drm client to deal with.

If you want to compare Isaac and FTL, I would suggest checking out youtube for NorthernLion. He's got an Isaac Let's Play that's been going since launch and he's also doing a Let's Play of FTL.

My personal choice would be Isaac. Sure it's not super deep in the story department, but if you get into the game, it will provide untold amounts of play time. Heck, NorthernLion still does nearly daily episodes of it and he's over 300 episodes at this point.

If you have PSN+ and an extra two bucks, I would say spring for Tokyo Jungle. Fantastic little game.

Lots of love for BoI, checking out the Let's Play for both of them is probably a solid idea while I wait to see what pops up on sale this weekend.

Thief II is currently $10 on Steam. If you like stealth FPS games then I'd pick this up. I describe it as everything that Assassin's Creed wanted to be, but never could.
Or you could get either Hitman 2: Silent Assassin or Blood Money for 9.99 eur--oh, wait, that's in euros. But Steam just converts dollars into euros, so it should be 9.99 dollars on Steam, right?

I personally like the Hitman games (Blood Money, at least, which is by far my favourite Hitman game) a tad bit more than the Thief games, even if I love the Thief games a lot. Having finished Dishonoured just two days ago, I actually feel kinda nostalgic about them.
Blood Money is actually what I just got done playing, definitely got my moneys worth outta that, though my buddy keeps chastising me for picking up BM instead of SA; he swears that it was superior to BM in his opinion.

Gamer's Gate looks pretty awesome as well. Was wondering, when searching through it by price, do you know of a way to filter out the DLC or is that just a first world problem I'll have to get over?

i recently had bought assassin's creed 2, saints row the third, mafia 2 all for under $10 for the pc ofcourse. all of them are good games worth getting.
Every one of those games is currently sitting in either my Xbox 360 or PC collection. Quite a bargain for you if you picked them all up for $10!
not all of them for $10 combined ..!!!
AC2 for $5, mafia 2 and SR3 for $9 each...

You could also head over here:

40 classic SEGA games for 10$
just saying...
Geez that's a lot of games! Do you need an emulator for them, or are they standalone?
I'm pretty sure they have their own built in emulator launcher.
When I bought "SEGA Genesis Classics Pack(s)*" off of Steam, each game that I bought integrated into a single launcher with all the games I purchased inside. As far as I can tell however this seems to be the same thing.

*BTW: I also suggest checking this deal out also. There's actually 5 packs even though the search bar only shows 4. (Phantasy Star 2/3/4 FTW!)

Edit: Just wanted to say I got this info from Joystiq. Giving credit where credit is due, ya know?

I'd go for Yakuza 4. I just recently picked it up myself, as I was a bit hesitant towards it. I loved Yakuza 3, but I thought 4 came a bit quick, and thought it was just a quick money grab on Sega's part. But boy was I wrong, Yakuza 4 is even better! It throws you right into the action, has a great story and a TON of content. The hostess quests in itself will take you forever. And it's so hilariously Japanese, that I keep bursting out in laughter. Like the first time I went to the massage parlour and and got the best ending right away. Seriously, WTF! haha! Can't wait to see what happens once I become a VIP member.

Meh, it's a matter of opinion. Blood Money's personally my favourite, for both the gameplay and the story/environments.

It's a shame that Contracts isn't among those discounted. Didn't see it, at least.

If you haven't played it, get thyself all over Alpha Protocol. I paid £3 (about $5) for my copy last year and played it through at least half a dozen times, finding new stuff each time. It's an absolute gem of a game and I consider it a crime that it didn't sell well in the first place.

I don't know of any way to filter out the DLC but you can post the question on the GameTutor area of the site under help.
Also if you're on a really tight budget check out GamersGate's Void service, it allows you to play some games for free by watching an ad before the game starts up.

Agreed totally, such an often overlooked game. While the story is a bit generic, it totally accomplished what it set out to do. While some hated it, I loved the whole time based response aspect of it, as it put you in the shoes of someone actually having to think up responses on the fly (and I still have nightmares about that stupid Konstantin Brayko fight, made me want to pull what little of my hair is left out!) My only major gripe was how absolutely stupid you looked while attempting to stealth about!

Get your ass down to a second hand game shop and see what takes your fancy. I picked up 3 games today for about $25(£18) and there were lots in that i've already played but are worth the cash. Best part is you can always trade them in again if you get a physical copy so 3 second hand games and you can get your 4th for free :)
