Best game of 2010....so far

Honestly none of the games I've played this year make me want to call them GOTY. I haven't played every game by any stretch but none of the ones I have played struck me as GOTY material:

MAG
Heavy Rain
GOW3
FFXIII

God of War is probably my favourite of those. Can't play ME2 and am waiting for a price drop on RDR (I have so many unplayed games there's no way I'm paying full price for a new one). Bioshock 2 is sitting on my desk waiting to be played but by most accounts that isn't GOTY either.

Either Red Dead Redemption or Mass Effect 2.

Out of the games I've played, Mass Effect 2 would be at the top of my list.

This followed by Perfect Dark (the 360 got a HD remake so I'm counting it).

Mass Effect 2 is the best game I've played so far but I'm still waiting for other games to arrive like: APB, Starcraft 2, COD Black Ops, Halo Reach, etc.

Red Faction: Geurilla

It was released at a bad time, and missed a lot of potential sales as a consequence. However it was highly rated amongst critics. One of the best games I have ever played, especially in multi-player. Incredibly well balanced, tactical, and supremely fun.

I will say Mass Effect 2 for now, only because I have yet to play RDR, but I am eager to play it. The only other new games I have played so far are Splinter Cell: Conviction and Alpha Protocol, so ME2 is the easy choice for me.

Mass Effect 2. The first one was just a meh game with good writing, but this sequel really sticks out for me. It not only improved the already great writing, but it fixed almost every single gripe I had with the first game.

If you made me pick one, I'd go with CoP.

Metro 2033 would get my nomination, but I actually think that ME2 was a better game. I think that Metro is a very underrated game and was the most unique gaming experience since Bioshock, but a part of that thought is bias because I'm a Russian. For a game that has a very corrupt literal atmosphere, it shows a lot of it.

For me, it's gotta be Super Mario Galaxy 2. Everything just feels right.

Mass Effect 2 has had the best story and characters of any game released this year, for me. Plus, I was a huge fan of the original Mass Effect, and ME2 was almost exactly what I wanted the sequel to be. The ending was a bit frustrating, but other than that the game didn't disappoint me in the slightest.
