the best game that came out in this year could very well be the best game that came out all decade

The game I enjoyed the most this decade was World of Warcraft. I know that it's arguably not the best of the decade, but I cannot think of a game I had more fond memories of than World of Warcraft. Although I abandoned it awhile back. Regardless, that was a hell of a game for me.

Persona 4.
This is a series that hasn't fallen into the traps of other JRPG's like final fantasy. Its more about substance than flash. and Persona 4 looks to be the best of the series so far. Almost every character is well rounded with hopes and problems of there own. The story is experinced rather than told to you in endless exposition. and the game play is deep and unlike FF the game doesn't play for you!
Persona is the best thing to happen to JRPG's in a long time. FF7 proved that with a big budget you can pull in a broader aduiance but it also proved that going that route meant that games would become less and less about good game play and more about looking cool till all that your left with is a circus of badly dressed clowns dancing to a fireworks display.
Persona 4 isn't the easiest game to approach but it seems to be making the best of what makes JRPG's great while actually improving on the formula by adding depth to game play and letting the player actually do some role playing rather than going from point A to B and dealing with random encounters.
