Well just I like music and I like games and I like them both a lot and therefore I like game music a lot lot.
I'd like to know what other people like, partially because i'm curious and partially because I want new ideas what to download.
(and if it has done before then don't start how I should use the search just post something or leave .pleas. pretty please even, with sugar on top)
And P.S I mean original music composed for the game.

My vote for best overal game ost goes to Half-Life 2 + episodes.

Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix. Seriously this is fantastic piece of music.

I loved Final Fantasy 8's original soundtrack, from there, it's got to be Liberi Fatali that stands out.

Best game soundtrack, with the content not being original, is far more difficult especially with all the guitar hero and rock bands games, taking them away, Brutal Legend is very strong, but to pick one track from it is very difficult.

Both Tony Hawk's Pro Skateboarder (1) and Crazy Taxi (1) had great soundtracks. I mean, Goldfinger, Powerman 5000, Offspring, etc etc...you just can't beat that in a game.

OST stands for "Original Soundtrack" btw.

As for best song, I dunno... when it came out, I'd say Still Alive, but it's become so old by now that I kind've hate it.

Best game OST and song, huh...no. I refuse to narrow it down, on grounds of impossibility.

I mean, come on, I could easily say "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-KlzfV8_DI>Devils Never Cry" from Devil May Cry 3, or "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqJgRFdbGYM&fmt=18>Wilderness of Sadness" from Tales of Symphonia, or "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdzP5SF0We8>On the Moonlit Rooftop" from A Drug That Makes You Dream, and be totally sincere. Those songs all come from amazing soundtracks, are incredible by themselves, and have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

Hell, I could even throw in "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lB0b0fHbAY>Violent Storm" from Baten Kaitos or "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKPxXRbYl6s>Iconoclasm" from Baten Kaitos Origins (that's a lie, I'd say "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz-jFRuvA2o&fmt=18>Le Ali di Principio"). Maybe "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNvsGRzw-ys>Light and Darkness" from Fate/Stay Night? Or...hell, anything at all from Guilty Gear (and "<url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_S43AP1tgc&fmt=18>Still in the Dark" in particular)...

Best OST probably goes to the Touhou series. Half a year ago, I would have said Final Fantasy or Zelda but not all of their songs are as good as their famous ones.

Halo (in my opinion especially Halo 2) has some of the best original music in the history of gaming. The music in all three Halo games is positively beautiful, and some of the music in Halo 2 transitions smoothly from being incredibly beautiful to absolutely rocking.
