Best game you have preordered?

Hello there Escapists!

So, me and a couple of my friends were just talking about preordering games and got me thinking. What is the best game that you have preordered? For added discussion value, why do you think that it is the best game you have preordered. (in-game items, etc).

For me I'm going to go with Red Dead Redemption. Why? Because:

a) it's a kick ass game
b) I got the special edition with all the bonus stuff

Saint's Row 2.

I was pumped for this game most of all, even in the clogged Fall '08 season. Which saw high profile games like Fallout 3, Fable 2, and Gears of War 2.

A lot of people seemed to "discover" this game down the line, but I was there on day one, having a grand time.

Gears of War 2. It's one of the only games I've ever pre-ordered and all my pals had as well. We all played Gears 1 a lot and it was so exciting to jump online and play the new maps, characters, etc.

Edit: Also playing co-op was pretty fun.

I don't pre-order a whole lot of games unless steam has a save 10% thing on it, but I did pre-order L4D2. So I'll go with that one.

Valkyria Chronicles. A game that sucked me in from day one, had me fuming at some difficult missions and bosses but still felt it was worth pre ordering it to get it on the day of release. Good things come to those who wait!

Well Soul Silver is the only game I've *ever* preordered, and since it didn't disappoint I'll have to go with that.

I never really pre-order a lot of games with the fear that I may end up disappointed with them. Usually I wait and have a little look at what they are like once they are released and then buy them.

I think the best I pre-ordered was Mass Effect 2. That was a good game and I also got a discount with it because I pre-ordered that with Bioshock 2, again another good pre-order.

Well right now I'm probably going to say Halo: Reach Legendary edition.

I'm going to have to wait eight months and save up a lot of money but it's worth it.

It set me back 150 euros, but it was so worth it!
Yeah, I know God of War 3 is short, but it was great nonetheless.

I didn't preorder it, but I do have it... and it is pretty bad ass.

Uncharted 2. I don't pre-order games alot. I enjoy walking to the store and getting the physical copy myself.

Funnily enough not a single one of my favourite games did I get on release day. In fact, not one of my favourite games did I even know much about prior to buying.

As for best game that I did pre-order it would probably be Left 4 Dead 2, even though I only did it because Steam were offering 10% off pre-orders.

Well right now I'm probably going to say Halo: Reach Legendary edition.

I'm going to have to wait eight months and save up a lot of money but it's worth it.

Eh, I considered Limited Edition but for the price gap between the two I personally didn't feel the price was justified. You can almost get two Limited Editions for the price of one Legendary over here.

I'm gonna go out on a whim and say "New Vegas" even though:

1) It hasn't been released
2) I haven't preordered it yet.

But I will, and the game itself will be awesome.

I hope so, very much. Which reminds me, I only came on here to check my inbox, I should get onto playing Fallout 2 like I originally planned.

I choose Alan Wake, mainly because the Special Edition was very well put together:

Sountrack
Bonus DVD
Game
Hardcover Novel from Clay Steward, the guy that helps Alan on the first playable game setpiece.

Best pre-ordered game would have to be Diablo 3 even though it's not yet been released (or even have a release date). I pre-ordered back in November 2008 I think it was and have been waiting patiently ever since.

Tough call between God of War 3 collectors edition and Record of Agarest War. on the one hand I get a badass looking replica of pandora's box on the other I get a mouse pad with boobs. Decisions decisions

Ordered it from overseas. never came and I got the original version. Anyway, I think Uncharted 2.
