My favorites are Free Bird, Beat It (just because how it mskes me while I play the solo) and Purple Haze has a pretty good solo.
Been playing Guitar Hero World Tour, this guy.

I'm gonna have to say "Ball And A Biscuit" by The White Stripes. The whole song is like one long blues jam and while its not the most technically advanced playing it sure does have a lot of soul.

I always post the same video on these threads.
The solo that starts at about 2:37 sounds as if they guy should be rising into the air on a giant pedestal, whilst on fire.

Cynic has many amazing solo's :p
Would you perchance be speaking of the original English Cynic band or the American band?

OT: Obviously Led Zep's 'Stairway to Heaven', um also the guitar solo at the beginning of 'Money for Nothing' by Dire Straits is pretty good (its about 1.35 into the song)

Fuzz Universe's guitar solo(s) is a boss.

But anything by Gilbert is usually awesome.

Nice to see some Porcupine Tree love here (even though SW isnt that great guitar player)!

This solo is pretty nice :)(also the sax solo at the end)

The American metal band, i cant even find the English Cynic online.
Oh fair enough, yeah not many people have heard of the English band (its heavy metal as well) but my Uncle's their drummer and likes to hear about it when people talk about his band, as not many do...

Crazy train's guitar solo is awesome.
This man speaks the truth.

The answer to that question has been known for years.

Riff...Solo...I can't tell the difference. It's still awesome.

Even if it's not your cup of tea (which I can totally imagine and respect), just skip to 3:00 minutes. The solo is worth it.

A link would be nice? :p
This is one of their older songs and there are more on the right from their Do or Die album (1982)

Maybe the most obvious choice ever, but Stairway to Heaven (by Led Zeppelin, if someone didn't know) does have an amazing solo.
I feel like im the only one who isnt impressed by their solo....
You might just be, it's easily the best part of an already legendary song.

OT: Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" or Queen's "I Want It All".
Saying that the Stairway to Heaven solo is the best guitarsolo ever because the song is legendary is like saying the last few Call of Duty games are the best games ever because they sold the most.

.oO(Not saying that Stairway to Heaven is a bad solo. It sounds REALLY great, but it's not the most difficult solo I've ever seen, although it also scores extra points for originality. Anyway, i just wanted to point out the flaws in the logic)

Well, I didn't say it was the best one. In fact, if you look at my answer to the OP, Stairway To Heaven is not listed.

In fact, if he doesn't like it, fine, it's just that I wanted to express the fact I love the solo by saying "you MIGHT just be the only one".

Also, I love the last few CoD games and consider them the best games ever... obviously not because they sold well, but because they appeal to me.

The two solos I would go for have already been mentioned, namely Stairway to Heaven and the last solo of Comfortably Numb.
