To be fair, if you want to define "best" as most widely played, Counter-Strike, which is afterall a Half-Life mod, would easily be the "Best mod of all time" by a wide margin.Rationalization said:I havn't played many mods, so any of the exp ones for CS 1.6

I will go with one mod that I just saw a ton of quality work put into: Rome Total Realism. A full conversion mod made for Rome Total War, it may not have had all the little things that made everyone happy, but the amount of work that went into making it unique was tremendous. They even created their own soundtrack for it. An original soundtrack for a mod. It was a really great mod in terms of what great work went into it.
Meh, I actually prefered Oblivion, if only for the incredibly convenient fast travel system and the fact that I don't get fined 500 bucks every time I accidently tap the spell cast button in urban areas. This mod is a huge, incredible effort, but I think it is unfinished and extremely flawed, and I was unable to complete it due to me picking the wrong option in a dialogue tree which prevented me from completing a vital quest (thus making it impossible to complete the game). I invested hours in this game, only for it to repeatedly spite me: I took part in quests that didn't have an end game (so I got no reward for the hours of trouble I went to), the lack of fast travelling means I have to back track over huge areas of land over the dead bodies of enemies, and worst of all, the lagging was so bad in certain areas that I had to run the game on the lowest of the low settings (so everything looked like shit anyway).captaincabbage said:Nehrim for Oblivion on the PC. I've never seen such a rounded, phenominally crafter game like this. It's also got lots of voice acting in german, which adds a bit of flavor to it, because hey, maybe ot all fantasy worlds speak english.
that and apokalypse armoury adds all the guns from previous games and some new ones i thinkNameIsRobertPaulson said:Fallout 3: Wanderer's Edition. Made the game so much more fun, and added roughly 25 hours to its life, more than 3 of the expansions put together.
Lol that's because the game isn't actually finished yet. It's like minecraft, it's not finished, still in the beta, but it's open for the public to see and give feedback on.maninahat said:Meh, I actually prefered Oblivion, if only for the incredibly convenient fast travel system and the fact that I don't get fined 500 bucks every time I accidently tap the spell cast button in urban areas. If you have a very fast computer, it might be worth a look. But if you are like me, and somewhat short of patience, you will find it a very frustrating experience.
