GoldenEye Source, It get's everything that made Goldeneye 64 good and then mixes that with the source engine, making an updated game that still has the basic principles of goldeneye. much better than that other goldeneye that was pretty much MW2 wii edition.

Oh and an honorable mention:

Nightmare House 2 for Half-Life 2

If you havn't played it, go do so now. The level of polish and work that went into creating this well crafted horror story........ well, it's staggering. Like it was made by a major company, only without the bugs at launch.

Hey, what are the best gaming mods you've ever seen. I'm obviously talking PC here, considering the consoles don't like modders very much :/
Will you include mods that later went on to be sold?

In that category I'd go with:
-Counterstrike
-Team Fortress
-Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
-Mechwarrior Living Legends

(dis)Honourable mention:
-Black Mesa Source (if it EVER gets released, probably will come out same day as Episode 3)

I do wish the consoles allowed more mod porting, but I understand the reasons they don't. Still, its nice knowing you can add more replay value to a game by simply changing and adding some code.

I've seen quite a few funny GTA4 ones and Fallout mods as well :D

I haven't tried many mods for games, but seeing the collection in here has made me want to reinstall some and get others. Sims 2 + 3 had some pretty epic mods. Some particularly funny.

I don't mind, it just goes to show that modding can be superb, there was a Quake spin off wasn't there?

The only games that I've ever played with mods were Dragon Age and Mount&Blade. The Dragon Age mods aren't as interesting as they might be, but some of the Mount&Blade mods, totally redesigned the game, taking it from the Dark Ages into the Wild West or even space.

Im quite a fan of the STALKER mods, First being Float 32 which makes the game A LOT prettier but wait for it, a frame rate INCREASE. And them adding Oblivion Lost. (note that Oblivion Lost has nothing to do with Oblivion (its just a name))

Team Fortress, the little known mod for the Quake engine.

Precursor to a little game series you probably haven't heard of. Really.
honestly, since they made the TF2 spy so... classy, I think it would have been a nice nod to the original one if they kept the team bandages on the spies arms

not necessarily all black suits, but the band would have been a nice touch

or maybe if they kept the psycho smile painted on the pyro's mask, hardcore shit, I'll tell you that

L.U.R.K. for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. SoC. It adds a bunch of new weapons and much better graphics. Definitely worth a go for a 2nd or third playthrough.
Personally, I preferred <link=http://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-complete-2009/news/stalker-complete-2009-release>S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2009.

I thought that one was really fun too, I just preferred L.U.R.K.

Stainless Steel, Third Age: Total War, and Broken Crescent for Medieval II: Total War. Stainless Steel juts takes the original game and improves it tenfold, Third Age moves the whole game to the LotR universe, and Broken Crescent takes place entirely in the Middle East which allows to to focus on otherwise unheard of factions (i.e. The Kingdom of Markuria, The Sultanate of Ghazni). Thank the gods for those genius modders at Total War Center.
