I'd have to add another vote for Riddick, Goldeneye and Scarface, Scarface in particular managed to be a really enjoyable GTA Clone, with a great feeling of progression.

Essentially, you play Tony, who escapes from the police siege at the mansion at the end, and has lost just about all his friends, money, estate, everything, and is holed up in some grubby hideout apartment, with nothing but a pistol, and you swear to get revenge on those who wronged you and take back Miami, and you really feel the growth over the course of the game.

Ok,

Chronicles of Riddick
Lego (jones, SW, Batman)
The new batman game looks good
Goldeneye
Im sorry but I enjoyed Ecks Vs Sever and Doom :D
Alone in the Dark (cmon the new game beat the movie hands down)
LOTRO - particularly 3
The Hobbit (old text based adventure)
Spiderman 2

Im sure the new Prince of Persia movie will be good

EDIT : I know some of my answerrs are wrong, but those "falmers" stating search, this is a movie to game not the other way around i.e. the movie came first

I'm trying to think of some good ones but all i've got at the moment is LOTR 2 and 3
Goldeneye for the N64. That is the best movie to game transfer - but you already knew that right?

The Lion King for the Genesis/SNES
Top Gun for the NES

I never really played any movie based games after that because when I got older I came to understand that most of them are terrible.

Well actually i never had a 64 but all my friends tell me Goldeneyes awesome and have a bat over it every night. But Spiderman 2 and the Warriors were pretty sick!!

Most definatly The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay.

Fantastic game. If you haven't played it, go buy it. I'm sure you can find it in a bin somewhere for $5. Or, wait until The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena comes out, because it will include the directors cut of Butcher Bay.

I did enjoy LOTR: ROTK, but Third Age was crap. Very much so.
God that game managed to take my favourite franchise and beat it with a stick.
EA: So it turns out the was a second fellowship who was 200 metres behind the first but they never saw each other. That'll bring in a few more millions.

In response to this thread: the Two Towers & Return of the King.

People still don't get it, the OP is asking for the BEST MOVIE.... that got made into a game.

So for example you can even include (god forbid) E.T. if you think it was a good movie, however a disaster the game turned out to be.

Goldeneye - Rareware rock (or at least they used to - if they managed another FPS like that or the original PD I'd buy it, no matter what console I had to buy with it!)

The Rogue Squadron games were cool if a little limited. Goldeneye all the way though - I've never had the same feeling of joy when playing that amazing game.
