SILENT HILL!

<youtube=QstGmiEB09k>

And while this isn't an official soundtrack, it was on Salad Fingers so I count it.

EDIT: NVM, misleading title at the time.

The matrix has an awesome soundtrack alright (Zion, Dreadrock and The Mona Lisa Overdrive have been favourites of mine for a long time) I got two of the songs from The Social Network aswell, Sound of Violence by Denis De Laat is the song thats played in the club scene of The Social Network I listen to it far too often if I'm honest. The other one is In Motion by Trent Reznor, thats the one thats being played while facesmash and the party are going on a great part of the film.

Swordfish, Snatch and Tron (havent listened to all of them yet) have great soundtracks aswell.

I liked Public Enemies. Not only did it have great 40's songs, but it had this gem:

And I think Tron Legacy goes without saying.

Kill Bill Vol 1. Partly from the amount of hidden gems/original music. I think it and Scott Pilgrim are the only two soundtracks I ever have bought.

Once Upon a Time in the West. Although The Good the Bad and the Ugly comes in a close second.
I am a fan of Elmer Bernstein as well.

While I will not dispute that Silent Hill has some good music in it, I must remark that the topic is best movie soundtrack, not game soundtrack. Unless of course the Silent Hill soundtrack was used in the movie, which I am not aware of considering I have not seen the movie.

A. It did.

B. When I came in here, the thread was titled "soundtracks". Bait and switch me, eh, OP?

Would have to say Into The Wild and Forrest Gump. Eddie Vedder did amazing work with into the wild, great soundtrack on it's own but so much better incorporated into the movie. Gump just has a collection of the best songs from the 60's and 70's; this however might be lost on the younger generation readers.
