Fracture (2007) - I consider it recent as I watch about one new movie a year. Fracture is underrated in my opinion and was well worth multiple viewings over the years.

Last movie I watched (all the way through) - Hunger Games. Dizzying camera, not enough gore, but the acting was good and Jennifer Lawrence was great as Katniss.

Last movie I watched - Rocky. Didn't manage to watch it all because the missus had to leave and it was her DVD, but I enjoyed what I saw.

I saw Das Boot, amazing film around 4 hours long but it never feels like its dragging on.

The Woman in Black, I saw it with two of my friends, and together we formed a good chart of different degrees of fear, Rylan (yes that's his actual name, I havent mispelled Ryan) hid behind his coat, his hands, his hair even, I screamed when you were meant to, but I didn't cower throughout, Stephen only showed any sign of fear once, about halfway through the film when I grabbed him suddenly, and he jumped, apart from that he didn't wince or anything, a decayed woman would jump out and he'd say "that's f*cking hot" as a joke, 8 times he did that.

Clerks; Mulholland Dr. and... Lulu The Tool. If anyone cares to know, I'm a film student, and that last one was shown to our class.

Gran Torino.

Great pacing and the ending has something about it. You don't want it to end that way but at the same time you can accept the ending very easily.

The newest film I've seen is Headhunters (or Hodejegerne in its original language). It's just been released with English subtitles and took me by surprise. The action scenes are done really well, even if the plot is a bit far fetched.

Most recently I watched The Big Lebowski, a film that everyone should try to watch at some point. It's so funny and so quotable. "He treats his objects like women, man!"

I don't go to the theaters much anymore. Just don't have the time/money. But last really good one. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

I recently watched Highlander, and what a great film it is. In my mind the sequels just don't exsist. Before this I watched the Mad Max trilogy, 3 amazing films but the second is probably my favourite but Mel Gibson is awesome in all 3.
The first Highlander film is one of my favourites, the soundtrack by Queen makes it though and I like the entire concept of having immortal guys choping off each others heads through time.

So. Fucking. Good.
The decision to zig-zag was indeed a good one. Saw it a year ago and it instantly became one of my favorites.
You should definitely check out Crows Zero if you don't mind a good subtitled film.

OT: I finally got around to watching The Book of Eli. It made me want to play Fallout 3. In a good way.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is excellent, full of great stuff going on and very clever. Gary Oldman is such a great actor

Most of these are old movies, that I only saw recently.

Lupin III Castle of Cagliostro Fantastic movie that everyone should watch. (Also you should watch the Lupin III anime that is airing currently.)

My Neighbour Totoro

This Film is Not Yet Rated Fascinating look into how shitty the MPAA is.

And a more recent release:
Jiro Dreams of Sushi Really good documentary about sushi. Better than it sounds.

The Fountain.

Wish Tree of Life would've been a bit more like it. Great concept movie with spot-on execution. Only confuses me even further why someone would not like Hugh Jackman.

I watched "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" recently and it's probably the best western I've ever seen and an excellent movie on it's own.

"Who are those guys?"

Interesting. I saw this in release week with a bunch of friends. I hated it, it felt dull and needlessly high-brow. I like an intellectual movie, but having the pace of a snail is unforgivable when you're meant to be a spy thriller!
