The works of Nobuo Uematsu on Final Fantasy and Darren Korb on Bastion certainly spring to mind, but I prefer the music of the Ace Attorney for music that 'sounds like' video game music. As in sounding chip-tuney or MIDI-ish.

I quite like some of the Street Fighter music, especially that in Street Fighter 4. Though I guess half of those are re-done versions of Street Fighter 2 themes, but whatever.
I'd go and dig up some examples, but YouTube doesn't seem to want to work. Just go look for Abel's, Cammy's or Adon's themes if you're that interested in what I was going to say.

I also like the music from Twisted Pixel's games. Well, 'Splosion Man and Comic Jumper, at least.
"It's Brad" is a song that's funny in game, but I ended up really liking on its own.
