Mass Effect, Deus Ex HR, GTA Series (radio stations I mean), Gears of War, Mafia,... most games I played had awesome soundtracks as far as I recall.

Best video game soundtrack ever was Tony Hawk's American Wasteland. No question. I know I'm gonna catch alot of flack for that, but we're talking about VERY good modern bands doing classic punk songs! Suburban Home, originally by the Descendents, was played by Taking Back Sunday, Institutionalized, originally by Suicidal Tendencies, was played by Senses Fail, and the best was Ever Fallen in Love, originally by the Buzzcocks, played by The Bravery, not to mention tons of other FANTASTIC remakes!. I went out and got two copies of the soundtrack, one for the car and one for me at home.

From the same soundtrack and better than Far Away in my opinion. Far Away was very fitting and was at a great moment in the game but I think this fits in even better with the story as a whole. Great soundtrack for that game...

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Hitman: Blood Money, and Bully all had soundtracks which really added to the game.

Well, it may not be the best, but I certainly can't think of any games with a J-Pop soundtrack other than TWEWY. And it is pretty darn good.


Also, someone else mentioned Touhou, so I might as well stick up (what I consider) a highlight from that series as well.


What can I say? I don't mind massive orchestras, heck Super Mario Galaxy also had an awesome soundtrack...


...but I also like when games don't feel obliged to use everything at their disposal, such as graphics engines or, yes, music.

I loved the music in Fallout 3. The InkSpots and Glenn Miller and that are things I like, though I'm generally into things like Johnny Panic and Feeder. Speaking of Feeder, Gran Turismo 3 had some awesome songs that were perfect for driving, and FIFA 6 and FIFA Street 2 had decent sorta Indie-ish soundtracks that were pretty decent tracks that could fit into the background and sit up with the tempo of the game, or at least the atmosphere.
Generally though I loved the songs from Persona 3...
