I do indeed find this interesting. Thanks. ^_^ And the song I posted was written and performed by the shows creator.
So after listening to some of the songs from the show, he seems to like good stuff. His favorite genres seem to be my own, can't be a bad guy.

As for myself, there's a lot of good ones:

Anything from berserk is good, thanks to Susumu Hirasawa.

The Wolf Whistling song from Spice and Wolf by Ringo Hiyori:

As is a lot of the Hellsing soundtrack thanks to Yasushi Ishii:
And this song from Darker than black by Ishii:

And Yoko Kanno always delights and amuses:

I just spent ten minutes trying to find a song from Family Guy that wasn't sped up, or played over a clip show of images taken from that same episode. I shall keep searching, but until then... *sigh* Here's the audio of one of the best ones.

"Sweet Victory" from Spongebob Squarepants immediately springs to mind from way back:

I'm a bit out of the age range for most western animation, so the only other things that I want to share come from anime. Since someone already posted "Ringo Hiyori" I think I'll ruin everyone's good mood with the lovely but somber "World of Midnight" from Black Lagoon:

It doesn't exactly make me feel good to listen to, but it really fit the episode it was used in.

I think my favourite has to be the Rainbow monkeys song from Kids Next Door

"What Can I Do For You" from the 1939 Popeye short "Aladdin and his Wonderful Lamp".

The theme is also used at the intro to this particular cartoon, but since it's not the famous "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man" - theme, I figure it still counts.

Skip ahead to 09:50 for the actual song. I do recommend watching the whole video if you have some 20 minutes to spare, though - it's easily one of the very best cartoons ever to come out of the Fleischer studio, and features an absolutely wonderful soundtrack!

The cool thing about Animaniacs is you learn as you laugh.
