I've watched a lot of anime but now i'm having trouble finding more good series. I don't care if its romance as long as it has a deep story and good character design, and some action might help. I'd also like to know what you think the best Anime of all time is and why.

Out of the little I watched i'd probally say Vampire Knight because it had an intriguing story and character development with plenty of action and it was able to keep me interested.

I don't think you can come up with a "best." How exactly would you objectively compare, say...Ghost in the Shell with Maison Ikkoku?

On topic, though...Princess Tutu. It's surprisingly good.

If you want DEEP, you can't get any more DEEP than Neon Genesis Evangelion...

Truly, NGE, while not the best mass appeal anime, is my absolute favorite anime. It's more or less required watching for any anime fan, regardless of if you like it in the end or not.

I'd say Gundam Wing is, the design, the characters, the story, and the early 19th century references and in the movie THE NAZI'S ATTACK!!!

Well, Dragon ball meta-series (Dragon ball/Z/GT) is the best you'll find imo.
for its length and main character/main villain development.

I haven't seen many but Elfen Lied is the best in my opinion. It's got an interesting plot and kept me interested. To bad it was only 13 episodes. : (

Well I dont know any good romance anime that has action, but this IMO is the best romance anime because the guy isnt scared of girls, he doesnt get nosebleeds, and theres no over the top fanservice.

Its pretty realistic in terms of couples dealing things in a relationship.

Kara no Kyoukai had engaging characters, awesome animation, an ok story, and a lot of awesomeness. Haibane Renmei was also absolutely amazing, with awesome music, great character development, an absolutely amazing story and beautiful art. Either of those will do you well for a little while.

Code Geass is a good choice. I had seen bits of it here and there, so I finally decided to watch it. 50 episodes later and I was happy with my choice.

Well, I am going to be really normal and boring and say Bleach and Death note. No doubt you've seen both, but I find them to be good anime's :)

What animes have you watched?

If you can tolerate its gore and high amount of fanservice, High School of the Dead. Action packed, funny, and sentimental.
If you can tolerate its high amounts of gore, violence, and nudity, Elfen Lied. Wonderful story and character development.
For its moderate violence, Gunslinger Girl. Good character developement, nice action.

FLCL, it's one of the best. The depth is buried under a bit a crazy randomness though.

Eureka 7 and Trigun also go as one of my top picks.

This has pretty much stated everything I would of recommended and more. While I don't see my favorite Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood up there... I highly recommend that too. Cuz, as I mentioned it is my favorite.

Ghost in the Shell and Cowboy Bebop are my favourites, but I've got a soft spot for Azumanga Daioh as well. I can't say they're the best, but they're my favourites.
