I really enjoyed the female human noble. It also made Awakenings a great deal more interesting to play.

The dwarven politics bits were pretty neat in the dwarven origins.

My least favorite is the Dwarf noble. You play the entire story thinking thatBalin is the good guy then BAM. Pulls the biggest dick move. It's not bad or anything, it's just the one that made me RAEG.
That's the sign of good story telling. I never understood what made people play humans in fantasy games. That's like choosing accountant for your class.
Well, some people feel more connected to characters of their own species, and in most RPGs, the Elves are long-lived masters-of-everything and Dwarves are also long-lived masters, whereas humans usually have to struggle for everything they want.

(Not the case in Dragon Age)
There's also the fact that Elves are exclusively for jerks and roleplayers who want to roleplay jerks. Am I the only one who thought it was a good thing when they learned Elves were second-class citizens?

I liked the Noble Human origin, mostly because it became a story about revenge. The Noble Dwarf origin was kind of revenge centered as well, but I still like the human better.
I liked the Noble Human origin best in the context of the game, and I thought it gave my girl more reason to care about what was happening, especially since it ties in with a lot of the political stuff later in the game. My personal favourites, though, were the dwarf origins.

The only origin I thought was kind of lackluster was the Mage origin.

I enjoyed the Human noble and city Elf ones. The Dwarven ones were okay, but I really didn't like the Dalish, origin or just general, and the Magi one was just boring.

Mage - Mouse was the REAL demon.
Bah, second time I played through, I tried to let the demon fool me, but it didnt work. -.-
I sat there for allmost an hour, re-loading to try getting a different result, but it was just wasted time. : /

Dalish Elf.

It was the first one I played, and it just goes BAM THIS IS HOW AWESOME THIS GAME IS.
It has a right-in-your-face kind of feel.
Have to agree on this one, it was the same for me.
After that I've tried every other origin, but none of them quite as exiting as the dalish.

Dwarf Noble and Dalish Elf are both my favorite, but I think I prefer the dwarf noble. There is so much fun to be had before all the shit hits the fan, so to speak.

City Elf was my favorite origin....I liked human noble as well ,but my City Elf seemed to be the play through where everything went right and fit like a proper story.

I liked the mage one at first, the fade section. You go through exploring a completely alien world (admit it, it was awesome the first time. The floating things, weird and enigmatic spirits, black city off in the background..), then you fight through the "test", find out your buddy was actually the bad guy, transforms into a huge ass-kicking demon, ends it with the awesome line of "beware mage, true tests.. never end"

And as you're preparing for this to get even more awesome, or at least fight the guy, you get yanked back into the real world! And then you spend the next hour dealing with whiny bureaucrats and whiny "I-swear-I'm-not-a-blood-mage" best friend. Lame!

My PERSONAL favorite, because it had the most impact, was city elf origin, female side. After realizing all my friends and cousin were in danger of getting tortured (or worse), I went on a roaring rampage of revenge to try and save them. Sadly too late for my cousin :( but THEN the stupid bastard tried to bribe me. It's a pity they didn't put a torture minigame in, but thne I guess I was kind of pressed for time, what with the guards and all..

That line was pretty good, but unfortunately all the padding that comes after the Fade section kinda ruined this origin for me.

Then again, perhaps that was a more honest description of the rest of the game. Kinda silly for a game that otherwise would have so much replay value when they could have easily done with one or two (or even three) areas less per quest. Orzammar/Paragon of Her Kind were especially ridiculous.

I've played the Magi, Daylish Elf, and Human Nobel ones, and I found the Daylish Elf the best. It's pretty gripping from the start and almost feels like a big mystery story.
"What happened?"
"Why do I feel like death?"
"Who are you?"
"What happened to [Insert Childhood Friend Name Here]?"
"Why do I have to go with you?"
"Oh. Well, crap."

Both City Elf and Human Noble did a good job of setting up the character's emotional drive for revenge. The Dwarf Noble origin really failed at that.

Dwarf Noble. I haven't finished the game yet, but can you murder your Usurping, Lying, Backstabing, Spineless little brother when you return to Orzimmar?

Beacuse I REALLY want to.

When you return to Orzamarr, there is a power struggle over the kingship that is breaking out in civil war between Bhelen and Lord Harrowmont (The old guy with your dad in the Thaig) Harrowmont claims that upon his deathbed the king said that he should rule and not Bhelen cause he knows the truth. You can't side with Bhelen to get close to him and assassinate him (I tried, you just talk about things with him, and he reveals your father did something similar to his brother to become king) If you side with Harrowmont, at the end Bhelen and his supporters attack you and you get sweet revenge.

Tie between Dwarf Commoner and City Elf for killing the most people in an origin.

Dwarf Noble gets an honorable mention for me, 'cause it's the only one where you fight darkspawn.

While only finishing the game with a Human Noble, I have to say the city elf was definitely my favorite. I didnt think it was possible for me to feel outrage towards a fictional video game character, but then he stole my wife. I think I may have literally shouted at the screen.
