Best PS1 game that should be remade

I can't be the only one thinking that remakes are usually not worth it...Been my experience that when a game gets a remake, it usually ends up being horrible or nothing like the original to the point where everyone goes back to the old game...

But if I HAD to choose...I'd say the ORIGINAL Spyro game. The one Insomniac made, not any of the ones that came out on the PS2. They do not count. And really, just the original. I like the other two Insomniac made just fine, but I've wasted sooooo many hours on the original, it's not even funny.

Other than that...Crash...or Ape Escape. Never owned either, but I always had an awesome time playing when I got the chance.

I would've said this if all my faith wasn't already put in the fact that they'd royally screw it up...... AGAIN

Yeah, the ONLY way a Spyro remake would be good is if the rights were given back to Insomniac. But Sony will probably never do that, and Insomniac is on to other things...and there's no promise it would be a great game if Insomniac did get the rights back.

As for Crash and Ape Escape...I only ever played the originals. The others looked horrible.

Final Fantasy 7, dragon quest 7, chrono cross, or maybe a non square/enix game. I'm trying to remember all the games from ps1 but most of the ones that where great where replaceable to an extent. Rpg's... it just seems you can't ever recapture the perfect story or interactions.

I mean the first call of duty had a thrill to how new it felt but you can't really re-capture that with a remake.

They need to NOT do it the way they did Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria, though. The open movement battle system and the AP system DO NOT GO TOGETHER. Valkyrie Profile needs a desperate remake on the PS3, I don't care if it takes longer than Duke Nukem, it's that fucking good of a game. Also, obligatory Legend of Dragoon. That game was awesome.

Legend of Dragoon. Spent countless hours on that game. The music, the atmosphere, the characters, everything was superb. It was a nice alternative to the Final Fantasy's of the time.

Sony kills me, they sit on two of the biggest franchies ever, Legend of Dragoon (I think it's their ip anyway) and Jet Moto 2 which I believe Polyphony made.
