Best PS1 game that should be remade

Driver. All the sequels are crap. Why can't they make one that was as fun as the original?

Really though, Bushido Blade. Way back when a friend of a friend sold my copy (along with FF VII) with the excuse that "They're crappy games anyway." I'm still kind of bitter about that.

I'm hesitant to say anything, given how amazingly stagnant and homogeneous the market has become. Both in terms of game design and property.

If pressed...

-Tomba
-Armored Core: Project Phantasma (give it a more clearly defined story, or focus on the exhibition arena matches. Better balance and less gimping of the slower legs/chassis, please)
-Legend of Mana (provide a more structured central plot, or focus on the three Super-Plots a bit more. Fix slight combat issues, heighten difficulty, and please leave the boatloads of grind at the door)

A remake isn't necessary, but Wii could deal with a Breath of Fire 4 port.

I know, I own every Persona (and almost every SMT) game released on the NTSC-U.

But I would like a CONSOLE remake of P1 & P2 with current gen graphics.

Honestly the only reason i would want any ps1 game remade is to see how they would have been if they were one of the many games that are being released now adays with the fancy graphics and spoken dialog and all the good stuff. Though it would kinda kill the way you imagined a characters voice would be and even their faces since well you know our long time friends pixels. ^_^ So i'm pretty much stuck in the middle.
