I'm a huge fan of both, and still play them (With Expansions) to this day.
Actually I use the BG Complete MOD so I can play through BG1 and it's expansion in the BG2 engine, and then move seamlessly into BG2. Which means I can use BG2 classes, races, and spells in BG1. Yeah, Wildmage in Candlekeep? It happens.
But I'm torn between the two as all-time favourite.
It's a tie.
