Crap, I forgot Vampires the Masquerade: Bloodlines.
One of my favourite RPG's of all time.
And so much replayability!

Solution One: Go into your C: Drive, find the folder called NWN, click NwMain, play, profit.

If that doesn't work: Go get Diamond. It's dirt cheap.
Thanks i definitly try that!

Seiken Densetsu 3, or Final Fantasy VII, or Final Fantasy VI.

1) Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn.

2) Deus Ex

3)A massive chasm that separates these two gems of perfection from everything else out there, good though they may be.

4) KOTOR

5) STALKER Shadows of Chernobyl
Nothing else even comes close. Not Final Fantasy x y or z, not Diablo, nor Fallout nor Bioshock.

And oblivion can be taken out behind the chemical shed and shot for being a twat.
I like you. You have good ideas.
Incidentally, if you liked the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series (i'm yet to find someone who didn't, apart from the bugs), I suggest you track down a book by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky called Roadside Picnic.
Tis a rollicking good read.

Thank you for the idea. I shall do that.

Oh, and forgot to mention as good but not perfect titles: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Neverwinter Nights, and System shock. System shock was so much fun, just harder than it had any sane reason to be.

I guess no one remembers Planescape Torment.
I do, and it's definitely on my list. Everyone ought to experience the greatness.

Otherwise, I enjoyed Chrono Trigger, both KOTOR games, the Secret of Mana, the Fallout series, Oblivion, and again, Planescape: Torment.

.Hack G.U. One of the few RPGs where I actually felt for the characters, and a rare JRPG that was quite enjoyable.
.hack//G.U. is incredible, if you haven't played it, go on Ebay and get it now, also try out Persona 3 :)

I remember Planescape, but unfortunately, I have not had the pleasure of playing it as of yet.
Anyone know a good torrent to get it from (or a legitimate website that sells outmoded games in a format that works with Current-Gen windows 32-bit programs?)

Neverwinter 1 and Torment: Planescape. Vista bugged the crap out of it, and now everyone walks backwards, in a perpetual state of moonwalking.

Earthbound, Final Fantasy IX and Final Fantasy IV are my personal three.

Special nod to Tales of Symphonia and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

Damn thread, why can't this be a top five?

Edit: Fine, I'm going to state that Earthbound is my favourite for the time being as I didn't see anyone mentioning it so far.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Terranigma! Great original story, changing world and some of the most beautiful music i've ever heard in a game.
Oh, I know Terranigma! That's a pretty sweet game. Played it on an emulator a few summers ago.
