Scrubs Season 8 finale was incredible
Lost Season 5 finale was pretty good left a huge cliffhanger though
24 Day 5 finale was good as well, but again, a huge cliffhanger

Season 8 finale of Scrubs no doubt. Perfect way to end it all, should've been a series finale in my opinion though.
The last fifteen minutes or so were absolutely beautiful, especially the future that J.D. saw at the end when looking at the goodbye sign.
It was by far the best thing that I have ever seen on television. Most season/series finales are good, but I think that this one was better than the rest.

Firefly for me, probably.

Can I count Serenity as a series finale? Probably not, but Objects in Space was pretty damn good as well.
River finally comes into her own, nearly drives Early insane by pretending to be part of the ship, and then helps Mal get rid of him for good. Although it was River's recovery and being accepted as part of the crew that made it really work as an ending.
If I can count Serenity, then definitely that. There are few films whose endings have made me cry more than that one.

scubs season 8 finale ftw
Seconded.
The bit where JD tricks Doctor Cox into saying what he really felt about him was just...ahh. Best part of the whole show, ever.

Fringe, when Olivia gets out of the elevator,
she meets Leonard Nimoy as the elusive Dr. William Bell, and she's at the top of one of the friggin' World Trade Center Towers! A newspaper on his desk also says that Obama won the election, the White House was bombed, but now the Obama family is ready to move into the new one, a speech being given by 'former President Kennedy', an article about Wall Street being 'closed for 21 days', an article about Len Bias (a 2nd round Celtics pick who died of a drug overdose before ever playing a pro game) being the NBA MVP.

Weird, eh?

The end of skins series 2

Sid goes to new york to find cassie but we are left on a cliff hanger :O
I so desperately want to see either a spin off series following those two, or else have them appear at some point in Season 4. They were easily my favourite characters and I kind of get the feeling their story isn't over yet.

Anyway, one of my favourite endings would have to be the Season 5 finale for Lost. It's such a great show, despite all the questions, and before anyone starts, we know for a fact that all questions will be answered in Season 6 since the producers confirmed during Season 4 that 6 will be the last season, completely. Anyway:

We find that Locke really did die and the guy who looks like him is a shape-shifted (or something) version of Jacob's rival, we see Jacob in the flesh as a youngish looking guy who's been on the island since before the arrival of the Black Rock slave ship, and he's been present in the lives of most of the survivors including reviving Locke when his dad tried to kill him. Ben gets tricked into killing Jacob, while Jacob's allies arrive to meet with the Others.

Meanwhile, in 1977, the people in the past try and detonate the hydrogen bomb as the now dead Faraday wanted, to prevent the Swan Station ever being built and to stop the crash of Oceanic 815 in the future. They fight with a group of Dharma Initiative members at the Swan's construction site and Miles' dad, Dr Pierre Chang of the Dharma Initiative, helps the survivors to detonate the bomb. They fail to do it in time and the electromagnetic energy is released, Juliet gets severely injured and falls down the drill shaft where the others think she's died, then she detonates the bomb that's also fallen down there just as the credits begin. We're left unsure as to her fate or the fate of anybody else.

Since someone mentioned ST:TNG, I'll have to say that while the series finale (All Good Things...) wasn't really that good IMO (not bad; just not one of my favorites), the season three finale kicked ass (Best of Both Worlds). Yeah, it's pretty lame by today's standards with the early-90's non-CGI special effects, and the pre-First Contact design of the Borg, but if you just overlook that stuff, I still think it's the mother of all end-of-season cliffhangers.

On the topic of Star Trek, though, I just have to mention DS9's finale (What You Leave Behind). I know, I know, real Trek fans hate DS9, but screw you guys, it's my favorite Trek show anyway, and it has the most epic ending of any Trek series. Unlike TNG's ending, DS9's feels like a real conclusion, that wraps up all the storylines, and doesn't really leave any loose ends.

Metalocolypse for the WIN.
Season 2 ended just as well, although the rising water stage was awesome.

Battlestar Galactica wins it. Tied everything off perfectly. It would be pretty hard to be unsatisfied with the ending I think.
I second this.

Also, some people seemed to hate the ending because of the increased spiritual tone of the show, but they seem to forget that the show has had a spiritual element to it from the very start. Wasn't it after just the fifth or sixth episodes back in season 1 where Laura began to believe she was a prophet?

Anyway, Battlestar Galactica...one of the best, if not the best, television shows I've ever seen. Ending was fantastic. :)

Battlestar Galactica, with a show that amazing, I didn't think a good finale was possible, but they pulled it of.

The latest Scrubs finale, the latest Lost finale, the ending of Code Geass (especially), the Heroes season 1 finale, the Death Note finale, and the Ranma 1/2 finale(the manga one, not the television one). I cried at some of these.
