Search-Bar Approved, Similar, but nothing actually the same.

I know that Best Game is a subjective term, but I would like to know, what is everyone's favourite Single-Player PC Game, it doesn't matter what genre it is, I just want to know your favourites. Thank you for your time.

Almost... but I'm obviously going with Morrowind. Even though I won't be playing it for a while now that I have about 7 new games...

S.T.A.L.K.E.R., I'm not sure what it stands for but that doesn't stop it from being awesome.

I'm going to be controversial here and say Portal is not the best single-player game out on PC at the moment. It's a great game, true, and ranks as one of the best, but it's not the best. Best is just a matter of opinion, after all, but there are plenty of single-player PC games older than that which are more worthy of the title. For example, The Longest Journey was a landmark game for the adventure genre, taking the best of things like Broken Sword and some of the earlier Lucasarts games (before they went Star Wars crazy and stopped making creative, innovative games like the stuff Tim Schafer does and did), and then added to all that with a much more compelling and well-written storyline, realistic and likeable characters (the best case I've ever seen of well written characters, in fact, and years before Half Life 2 came along with Alyx Vance and Dr Breen...), and overall a much better feel.

So yes, though Portal is great, it's nowhere near the 'best'. There are other titles out there that are much better. And besides, 'cake is a lie' jokes are just silly and old now. And though Still Alive is good, Jonathan Coulter has done more than just that, you know...

I'm going to have to second Morrowind.

Also, I feel like Neverwinter Nights 2 would be one of my favorite games EVER if it didn't crash my computer within 30 minutes of playing. =*(

Portal gets a place somewhere high up there, as do quite a few other games. Top place, though? Planescape: Torment. No doubt about it.

Argh! Too many games to contemplate all at once!

Hard to say what's my all-time fave, as I have a bunch of games I like for varying reasons.

I've only played the demo, but regardless, I'd say The Witcher.
I really never got the fascination with this game. To me it seemed really average, can you explain what's so good about it?

For me... its incredibly difficult to say, I suppose it depends on what I feel like playing at the time, sometimes its Oblivion, sometimes its some new Russian Shooter I've stumbled upon with the help of a friend.

This is stupid. You cannot honestly pick a best game of all time from different genres.
