Two things that don't really fly here at Escapist and that would be proper grammar and not typing in lolscap. You're new so it's not really you're fault but keep that in mind.
Dude, who died and made you the english teacher? I've seen you hacking on peoples' spelling all the time, is that a Canadian thing? Or an eighteen-year-old thing?
Pardon the double post, but that's an 'Escapist' thing. We have this crazy idea that people can put across ideas, arguments, and notions without resorting to internet speak and, therefore, sounding like a mentally challenged valley girl.

Proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation never hurt anyone. Besides, if the schools don't teach it, they might as well learn it here.
Yeah? Well, I think no-ones perfect, we don't have a responsibilty to teach anyone, and we're here for a good time. And I didn't see on the forum rules where everything must be spelled absolutely correctly on threat of ban-hammer. Considering that it's been proven that all that really need to be there are the first and last letter of the word, I have a special place in my heart for english-fascists.

I absolutely adore Pepsi's Throwback...the one with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It's like it's the early eighties again, and I'm way too young to be going to see Star Trek 2 in the theater but my folks are taking me anyway!

Yes, I realize this dates me. I'm a crotchety old lady.

Pepsi Twist is good. Vanilla Coke was also tasty but it didn't last two months.
What are you talking about? It's still out. I just bought a 12 Pack recently and drank it in a month.
A look at my profile would have given you the answer. In short, I live in a relatively small south-eastern european country that is known as Greece.

Nesher Malt root beer. Don't think you can get it outside of Israel but if you get a chance try it. It's very good

1)Cactus Cooler. I've only been able to find it in Texas & south California. It's so hard to find, theat when I come across it, I will buy every can the store has.

2)Original Fresca.

3)Calpico. Ain't nothin' like it made in America. Only soda I know that has powdered yoghurt in it.

4)Pineapple Fanta; the only Fanta flavor that doesn't suck.

Well I certainly never said anyone was perfect. But do you see how much easier it is to have this discussion when you're typing with proper grammar, punctuation, and, for the most part, spelling? We won't, or at least the majority won't, jump on your case for the odd misspelling here and there. That's not the issue. It's when you're using ridiculous abbreviations like 'l8r', 'wut', 'srsly', 'ur', and so forth. Throw in some unnecessary acronyms like: 'idk', 'stfu', and 'imho', and you've got less a forum, and more a text message.

Besides looking like an idiot, whether or not that is true being irrelevant, it's rather hard to read. Was that a word? An acronym? Some new abbreviation this guy just made up? Some stupid meme from some obscure youtube video about a bear punching a clown?

You can have a good time here without typing like a 12 year old. And you'll find it's a lot easier for all of us to communicate if we're using the same language. A grammatically correct post about a duck pooping a diamond isn't less wacky and random then the same post using 'lolscat'. Just easier to read and understand.

EDIT:

See, and this is what I mean. 2maro, you aren't a douche for a few grammar and spelling issues. But your posts are more difficult to read with all the ellipsis', and 'ur's and 'u's. Whether or not it's true, you sound like an idiot. Again: I'm not saying you are an idiot, not at all. But it's hard to take someone seriously when they can't take the time to type 'you' or 'you're'.

If you're a young guy, then it'll only help you to learn proper grammar and spelling now. We're not trying to scare off 'noobs' from enjoying themselves at the Escapist, we're trying to make sure these forums don't degenerate to those of other gaming websites that we've seen (Who will remain nameless, don't worry MODs). We have a great community here, and we want to keep it that way. Like I said earlier: Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling never hurt anyone.

I like Pepsi. Just plain ol' Pepsi. Nothing special. Just Pepsi.

We also make some local sodas that are pretty damn awesome.

Urge. It's like Mountain Dew only better. Much better.
I think Norway is the last place left you can still buy Urge. It was called Surge in USA.

Oh, and OP... Your post hurt my eyes.

Omg, idk wtf the problem is?

Raise your hand if you didn't understand that. When one is typing, it is easier to use a few abreviations that everybody understands, especially if one isn't a 75 wpm typist. Oh, excuse me. "Words per minute". Don't want anyone to get confused. As for the "ur"s and "u"s, well, one does seem more intelligent if one uses the correct spelling of simple words like that, but it's not as if we're debating the state of the world, or anything. "What's yr favorite soda" doesn't require any research or prepared arguments.

BTW, I also like Dr. Pepper. Especially with Jack Daniels. As in, "I'll have a Dr. Jack, please."

Being Scottish I'm going to have to go with Irn Bru, a drink that no foreigner I have ever met has liked, yet every Scot loves it
I be an Englisher, I love a drop of Irn Bru. BUT ONLY WHEN IT IS IRN BRU. Not some "Iron Brew" Knockoff.

I would also like to give a mention to Appletiser, if that counts.
