I absolutely adore Pepsi's Throwback...the one with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. It's like it's the early eighties again, and I'm way too young to be going to see Star Trek 2 in the theater but my folks are taking me anyway!

Yes, I realize this dates me. I'm a crotchety old lady.
well in Canada we won't get that, mostly cause our pepsi is still made with real cane sugar, oh the joys of having no trade embargos with Cuba

Pardon the double post, but that's an 'Escapist' thing. We have this crazy idea that people can put across ideas, arguments, and notions without resorting to internet speak and, therefore, sounding like a mentally challenged valley girl.

Proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation never hurt anyone. Besides, if the schools don't teach it, they might as well learn it here.
Yeah? Well, I think no-ones perfect, we don't have a responsibilty to teach anyone, and we're here for a good time. And I didn't see on the forum rules where everything must be spelled absolutely correctly on threat of ban-hammer. Considering that it's been proven that all that really need to be there are the first and last letter of the word, I have a special place in my heart for english-fascists.
Well I certainly never said anyone was perfect. But do you see how much easier it is to have this discussion when you're typing with proper grammar, punctuation, and, for the most part, spelling? We won't, or at least the majority won't, jump on your case for the odd misspelling here and there. That's not the issue. It's when you're using ridiculous abbreviations like 'l8r', 'wut', 'srsly', 'ur', and so forth. Throw in some unnecessary acronyms like: 'idk', 'stfu', and 'imho', and you've got less a forum, and more a text message.

Besides looking like an idiot, whether or not that is true being irrelevant, it's rather hard to read. Was that a word? An acronym? Some new abbreviation this guy just made up? Some stupid meme from some obscure youtube video about a bear punching a clown?

You can have a good time here without typing like a 12 year old. And you'll find it's a lot easier for all of us to communicate if we're using the same language. A grammatically correct post about a duck pooping a diamond isn't less wacky and random then the same post using 'lolscat'. Just easier to read and understand.

EDIT:

and i was thinking im a compleate douch for a few gramer problems... thanks peeps for backing me up... and whos here to tell me... well if ur an admin... sorry but if ur not go away nobody wants a teacher in an off topic dicussion... or how ever u spell it... and i could b a lot worse.... like

Hay DoOd HowWW wAZZZ ur EFingling DAyt???!!! see... not so bad now that u see a REAL problem...

and Btw its people like you that drive noobs away from a great thing... so before you think "hey by telling this noob what to do ill help...um... no ur probley screwing the entire escapist... so yeah... get your im a lozer badge.... naw not that bad sorry
See, and this is what I mean. 2maro, you aren't a douche for a few grammar and spelling issues. But your posts are more difficult to read with all the ellipsis', and 'ur's and 'u's. Whether or not it's true, you sound like an idiot. Again: I'm not saying you are an idiot, not at all. But it's hard to take someone seriously when they can't take the time to type 'you' or 'you're'.

If you're a young guy, then it'll only help you to learn proper grammar and spelling now. We're not trying to scare off 'noobs' from enjoying themselves at the Escapist, we're trying to make sure these forums don't degenerate to those of other gaming websites that we've seen (Who will remain nameless, don't worry MODs). We have a great community here, and we want to keep it that way. Like I said earlier: Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling never hurt anyone.
sorry im just like SO use to texting people and i ushualy add an accidental u or what ever im working on it... and somebody said GRAMER IS CRIMINAL... dude... really.... i mean let a frekin' 14 year old spell something wrong!!!!

Close tie between
Pepsi - Dr.Pepper - Mountain Dew.
Also Amp and Monster are in there somewhere.

My favorite soda drink would have to be Mountain Dew. For some reason, I just can't get enough of it... I guess it's because I play DnD and Mountain Dew is basically the DnD gamers must have drink...

1)Mountain Dew Game Fuel: I didn't buy it for Master Chief, I bought it because I mistook it for Code Red and found that I liked it. A lot.
2) Rockstar Juiced Guava: It's like Guava flavored crack that keeps you up for four hours.
3) Dr. Pepper: 23 flavors for the win.
4) Mountain Dew Code Red: Mmmmm...cherry...
5) Mountain Dew: Mmmmm... lemon-lime...ish...

I haven't had Throwback yet, but I'll bet it's even better. Real sugar for the win.

I don't really drink soda that much, but probably Orange Crush. R.E.M. wrote a song about it so why the fuck not.

Dr. Pepper or A&W tap (which after moving away from my hometown I've found this rather difficult to find).

We use to get Dr Pepper over here in Aus. Maybe we still do, but not in my area.. that fizz fix was pretty cool while it lasted.

So my fav instead would have to be "Creaming soda". frak yea'

Mine was a soda called Surge. Some of you guys may remember it, it was very similar to mountain dew/mello yellow but with more of a citrus flavor to it. It was ridiculously popular all through the time I was in middle school, but by the time I graduated high school it had been discontinued. That was a crappy day, the school had put in vending machines about 6 months before the discontinuation with the logo right on the front :p
