Ratchet & Clack. You just can't beat the Groovitron.

Runner-ups would be Uncharted 2, Resi 4 and I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Metal Arms: Glitch In The System.

I'd have to go with Gears of War. I'd also consider Ratchet and Clank, but I never thought the series fell under the TPS genre.

If Mass Effect 2 counts, which I don't think it does, then definitely that. If not....Red Faction Guerrilla or Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.

Red Faction Guerrilla

Glad to see someone else enjoyed that game... it was a bit too big and sparse, but what was there was amazing fun to destroy. Super, super physics engine.

For me: Star Wars Battlefront 1, Uncharted 2 or Warhawk. Possibly RDR. All brilliant TPSs.

max payne 1 and 2, then we have the gears of war and mass effect series. Then we have battlefield heroes, which at least i think is a very entertaining tps online shooter, + it´s free as long as you stay away from the micro transactions, but from time to time they let you have some free so called "battlefunds" that you buy better weapons with.

Take the arena battles of 2 and 3...and make a game out of them.

Works brilliantly for me. I found the platforming to be the weak spot of the series, anyway.
