Best Video Game Character

Ganondorf in Wind Waker is amazing. Most of the way through he's typical Ganon; "muhahahahaha must get Triforce", but the monologue he gives just before you fight him actually gives him character and almost makes you feel sorry for him. It's great. And then his last line in the game... amazing (I'm not putting it in here because I don't know how to do that spoiler thing).

Sergeant Johnson or Master Chief from Halo, definitely. Their banter is just brilliant:
"For a brick, he flew pretty good!"
and: "Dear Humanity, we regret being alien b@st@rds, we regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret, that the Corps, just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!"
Mario and Sonic were classic too, but getting a bit old and rehashed (e.g. most of Sonic Unleashed is a reworking of Sonic Heroes for the PS2), and Crash Bandicoot is just awesome

Sephiroth gets my vote though, and Cloud, for their ubercoolness I mean, a sword that always kills like as soon as it touches you, that has to be doing something right (or wrong, depending on your point of view...)
