Ramon Salazar, pain in my ass.
He was pretty annoying, but I'd have to go with The Many from the System Shock series.
That's one alien annelid/human hybrid mass cult that you want to steer clear of.

Kane from command and conquer proably, since he is the longest serving villian I know of (Real time).

Also can anybody tell me a a main villain in a game who not neccessally is"badass" but has no choice but to be the villian. (Just a question).
Answer: Jecht (Sin)
No... just... no.

Everyone and anyone that said Kefka gets my full support. He was freakin' nuts, totally cruel, and merry about mass murder. He's like Final Fantasy's Pennywise, and I loved it.

Well let's see now, from a technical standpoint, Hitler, from all the WW2 games, seeing as he is truly our worlds greatest real villain (He just is, really). But from a personal standpoint, Andrew Ryan, what a shit-eater. Shame, I thought this meant best villain in general, I was definitely gonna go with...Biff Tannen.

The G-Man.

Sure we don't know what his deal is yet, he could be a saint for all we know but either way he's awesome and he has a villainous air about him.

Starkweather from Manhunt. He's the epitome of a scumbag, he pretends to be your freind and the whole time you can hear it in his voice that he's about 2 seconds away from bursting into a fit of shit-faced laughter.

yay! i thought starkweather was a brilliant villain! he wins.

My first is Pyramid Head, I mean he rapes things, has a gigantic sword, and has one of the most original appearances in the history of video games, I mean c'mon, that guy has a giant pyramid thing, on his head. That's original.

The Tall Man is my second, he's the secondary antagonist in the Chzo Mythos, created by Yahtzee.

Sorry I didn't find a better picture, but this one was good. Now, I'm gonna explain what the Tall Man is. He was human during the roman invasion on some countries. He was a druid who actually knew to summon demons and stuff. So, he wanted to summon a pain elemental that even the most powerful magick (this is not a typo) beings spoke of him in fear. But the Tall Man was arrogant, and thought that he could control it to fend off the roman army. But he couldn't control it and the pain elemental took him into the magick world and tortured him and it's sure if the Tall Man's soul wasn't put in a tree, he'd die. But after Chzo (the pain elemental) got fucking bored of his pain he granted him power and the Tall Man was born.

But even though he didn't continue to be tortured, he feels pain every second of his existence, and he screams of agony, but his organs are so damaged, he can't make sounds.

Then, I'm gonna say Arthas from Warcraft 3 as someone else said, because if I'm not wrong he actually beat the Humans, orcs and elfs and he became the lich king.

Then, I'm gonna say Kreia, Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion from Star Wars Kotor 2. Kreia, because she could very well be one of the best game antagonists ever, because she's right about some stuff, and everything that happened, she wanted to happen, well except for her being killed by the Exile, but come to think of it, she wanted that to happen as well.

Darth Nihilus because he fucking destroyed a planet by himself, no machines, no nothing, hundreds of years before the Death Star was created. Oh, and did I mention that he nearly led the Jedi to extinction, which I think was only accomplished by him and Darth Sidious.

And last, but not least, Darth Sion. The only thing holding him together is his will and the force. And due to the enormous amounts of fractures, cuts and bruises his body has sustained, he lives in constant pain, sorta like the Tall Man.

The crazy antics of Kefka will also make him one of mmy favs.

Only just recently I've noticed the similarities to The Joker (who is also awesome) ^_^

dnd has to be the devils simply as no other villain comes close to them as able to con the gods and have a genuine reason to be evil unlike the most evil deities in any campaign as are lesser evil what stops oblivion from happening and yet do it with such charm and guile puts scheming of mortals and gods to shame.

Someone's had to say this already, but it begs being restated over and over . . .

Shodan. Shodan from System Shock 2 totally shattered my world in one of the best in-game cut scenes you'll ever see in a game as long as gaming even exists. Those of you who know what I'm talking about might agree with me when I say moments like that really make a strong case for the games-as-art argument.

For those who don't know, imagine you're alone on a ship in space littered with dead bodies and only one person guiding you through it all. She wants you to meet her on deck 4, and after facing all the horrors of the ship to that point (hybrids who hunt for you while rambling to themselves, psionic monkeys), you finally make it to deck 4 and see this:

Albert Wesker.

He kicks ass and looks ridiculously cool while doing it.
YES! A. Wesker is THE man! =D

on a side note, Irving would also get my nomination even though he isn't a villain, just a business man with standards (heh) :p
