Gravity Gun. Beat a zombie to death with a mattress and tell me otherwise.
I have reposted that quote TWICE in the last two months. That is ridiculous

Favorite sword: possibly Gunblade from FF8 or a lightsaber (or two) in some shade of blue-green
and they actually seem bladed

Favorite gun: Pandora from DMC4 should logically have a gun that I like somewhere in it (and maybe a sword too). Or the chemical gun from Bioshock? Comes in napalm, electric goo, and liquid nitrogen flavors. Or maybe Artemis from DMC3 (maybe Pandora has it as a form). Rain of laser arrows for all.

I'm pretty sure the guidelines say something against thread necro-ing. Something like "restart if the thread didn't have a post in over a month" or something.

The Death Star Beam is always fun, as long as you know which planet the Rebel Alliance is on. For everything else there's Alderaan, the Red Shirt Planet.

One of my personal recent favourites is the Deathclaw Gauntlet from Fallout 3. What you do is you kill a thing that's basically a t-rex fused with a werewolf and use its hand to play Nightmare on Elm Street. The teenagers are played by guys in heavy armour and super mutants.

However, as a creative optimistic psychopath, I'd say that the Portal Gun does in fact reign supreme, if only for the fact that you can hide a superweapon in the middle of nowhere and use the portal gun to launch attacks from anywhere. No orbiting the planet to reach the moon with the rebel base on it. Also, I could drop people into a pit that's nowhere near me. AND watch them fall to their death.

Once you start thinking with portals, there's no end to the possibilities!

The greatest weapon ever would be this.

Not by a long shot, the handle's too small to use it as a sword comfortably, and the blade on the end makes it an awful gun.

The Buster Sword from Final Fantasy VII just because the sword is like 2x bigger than Cloud and it doesn't break his back..

So, it's ridiculously impractical, and that makes it a good weapon how?

Indeed when you can hack your way through enemies with a sword that is completely impractical it makes you one dangerous killing machine.

Actually, that's pretty much the opposite of what it does. Seeing as your hefting a sword that probably weighs about 200 lbs, your not going to be able to swing it, and then your gonna get killed.

I would say for the close combat either a huge sword or a lightsaber.
Gun dept is a fun subject possibly the chainsaw shooter Lancer the BFG from Doom and basically anything that turns a once powerful enemy into fertilizer.
And the bizarre winner is actually the gravity and portal guns which not be fused due to how you can improvise with them.

I don't give a damn how impractical it is. It's just the fact that it's so badass.

entertaining - M16a1 Carbine in COD4. its just entertaining to be able to aim with pinpoint precision without have a laser scope (iron sights ftw)

Awesome - Frostmourne. Nuff Said.

powerful - Armageddons Blade. its just awesome to cast Armageddon without hurting yourself at all.

silly - The Rickroller thing from doom.

Tau cannon, Half Life. It shoots through Walls! i mean cmon, BFG or not, you can't kill some one on the opposit side of a wooden door with it. but with the Tau cannon, that door could be made of 5 feet of reinforced steel, your enemy is gibs on the opposit side.

The Buggy, Half life 2. i don't care of any of the grand theft autos and how they look... you hit a guy with the buggy in half life 2 you feel it. it is so versial and awsome to have a guy bounce off your front bumper then run over him.

Catapult, garrys mod. Cmon! It is a catapult which works exactly how it should... how can you go wrong with that? and it is fun to just lob explosive barrels or even just large bolders at enemy wood forts.
