Best Sequel: Halo 2 or Shenmue 2, I can't decide

Worst Sequel: Catcher in Rye 2: Holden pussies out on another prostitute after bitching about not getting any for 5 hours

Ha, I'm kidding. Fable 2 sucks ass

Yeah, that's probably true. About Alpha Protocol, that game being good would be good enough on it's own, but if it can get Obsidian out of Bioware's shadow, all the better.
Exactly. Me being the huge bioware fanboy I am, I've not hated a single game they've ever released.

However, I hate to see good games go down in flames just because Obsidian picked the wrong developer to idolize.

I'm going to be different and use the same game twice.

Best: Gears of War 2 for the campaign.
Worst: Gears of War 2, because the multiplayer was bollocks.

Worst sequel: all of the Kingdom Hearts-sequels/spin-offs.

Best sequel: Jak II: Renegade.

I'd say that's accurate, although Horde is pretty good. Still, both Gears games have had awful MP.

Half-Life 2 is the best sequel ever made by being one of the few to even surpass the original.

I'll agree with you on Fable 2. However, to ninja just about everyone, I'm also going to say KOTOR 2.
Meh, I liked KotOR II, ending aside. Say what you will, Kreia was fucking interesting.
Oh no, I fucking loved KOTOR 2 (aside from the god forsaken opening on the mining station). However, they made the mistake of naming it KOTOR 2 instead of calling it:

Knights of the Slightly Newer Republic.... or something.

Their biggest mistake was making it a sequel to a dearly beloved game. A franchise by Bioware should always stay a Bioware franchise, because the fanboys will tear it apart otherwise.
True. Although, at this point, most people, including the fanboys, acknowledge that the game would have been completely amazing if Obsidian had been given time to finish.
It could have been. But it wasn't.

And this has been proven with Neverwinter Nights 2 as well. Everyone knows that Obsidian is an amazing developer, they just need to distance themselves from Bioware.

If they don't fuck Alpha Protocol up, then they'll have a good fanbase of their own.

Why did they push it back to Spring of 2010? There was never a reason for why they did it.

On Topic: Best Sequel to me was Assassins Creed 2.

Worst Sequel to me was Spider-Man 3 (The Game)

I think there's one series that can list both in it's repoitoire (man i hope i spelled that right, otherwise usin' that word was a bad move on my part)....

The Devil May Cry series had the worst sequel ever in my opinion with the 2nd one, then blew all of 'em away with the 3rd...pretty good way t'bounce back in my opinion...

Best: Metroid Series till Super Metroid. Zero Mission and Fusion are good(Even though, Fusion wasn't much about exploring.) but didn't improve on the big ************ Metroid 3.
Prime is a different story.

Yeah, they have a bad track record with that. I mean, it made quite a bit a news when they announced the new release date after the original, but they had actually already done that last March as well.

Best: Pretty much any Ratchet & Clank aside from Quest For Booty (I felt very cheated)
Worst: GH: World Tour

I'm not quite sure why everyone really hates Fable 2 so much. It wasn't exactly a terrible game, it just wasn't a great game. But anyway...

Best: Saints row 2
Worst: Duke Nukem:forever

You'd be surprised by how many people on here will defend KotOR 2 as being better, because it would of been had it all been put together properly (?!).

The first was just... Uuuuuhh(mazing). The second was good, despite its many MANY flaws.

OT: AC2 easily for the best sequel in terms of such vast improvement.

Oh, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - especially after the very forgettable Pandora Tomorrow. Here's hoping for Conviction to be amazing, because apparently odd numbers are best in the world of Splinter Cell.

Fable 2 was a rather shite sequal.
I agree with this.

It wasn't a bad game on it's own, but when compared to it's predecessor, it just seems sub-par to me.

Some good sequels off the top of my head, Assassin's Creed 2, Guitar Hero 2 (for me the series just went downhill after the second), and Rock Band 2.

I'll post any more I can think of.

Lots of Jak and Daxter/Ratchet and Clank sequels were superb. For worst I'd say Guitar Hero 5. A multitude of songs you'd rather hear than actually play.

Best sequel: Kingdom Hearts 2. Took an already fun game and made it brilliant.
Worst sequel: Lego Racers 2. Not bad, but so not bad that I had no fun playing it at all.

I agree with OP, Fable 2 was awful compared to Fable 1, a game I completely adored
Zone of the Enders 2 improved on the first in every aspect, wonderful game
Resident Evil 5 is a diabolically awful game, in my opinion, especially since Resi 4 is in my top 10 games ever. I sold Resi 5 after a week of owning it, it's just shocking
