Best/Worst Sequels

The Ratchet and Clank sequels were great, up till Deadlocked. They added more action and creative weapons without giving up the style, platforming and humor.
The most disapointing sequel I ever played was Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. I loved the first for so many things that the sequel just took away. Third one kicks ass though.

Half-Life 2 is the best sequel ever made by being one of the few to even surpass the original.

I'll agree with you on Fable 2. However, to ninja just about everyone, I'm also going to say KOTOR 2.

I'm sick of this. Half Life 2 is NOT better than Half Life. IT DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE!!! GYAAAAAAGH!!!!

Annoying driving sections
Shitty new weapons
cant carry enough ammo
why still the crossbow?
Combine forces aren't as intelligent/cool/ruthless/totally freaking badass as the marines in the original
those damn antlions are just plain annoying

Sorry mate, but this is a matter of opinion.

Besides, you are in a great minority by saying this. Many people believe that Half-Life 2 was better because many of the things in the game that were innovative then, have become traditional staples in FPS games because of Half-Life 2.

It is simply a fantastic game that improved upon the traditional FPS formula in every way.

Half life 2 is the best sequel ever made and is my favourite game of all time!

In terms of a shitty sequel I guess I'm gonna have to say warrior within, it was alright but they really did go to town with the angst.

Best Numbered Sequel: wipEout 2097 (wipEout XL in the U.S.)
Worst Numbered Sequel: Burnout 3 (Trying too hard to be 'extreme' and it hurt my eyes to play).

Best Not Numbered Sequel: Metal Gear Solid.
Worst Not Numbered Sequel: Legend of Zelda Windwaker/Super Mario Sunshine (Tie).

I'm not quite sure why everyone really hates Fable 2 so much. It wasn't exactly a terrible game, it just wasn't a great game. But anyway...

Worst: Duke Nukem:forever

Dude! you cant say duke nukem forever was the worst sequel because:
you have not played it because it isnt out yet , thus you cant say its a bad game for all we know it could be the best most awesome game ever made.

Best sequel for games: Halo 2, I just loved the addition of the Arbiter that much.

Their biggest mistake was making it a sequel to a dearly beloved game. A franchise by Bioware should always stay a Bioware franchise, because the fanboys will tear it apart otherwise.

Like me, I want to eviscerate that game!

I have been playing Splinter Cell since it first came out, and I'd have to say that Chaos Theory was a horrible game. It took everything Splinter Cell in the series and stabbed it in the balls (figuratively speaking of course)
