It DID have level scaling, whether or not it was 'retarded ass' I guess is a matter of opinion. I'll agree MW had better writing, depth and less hand holding.bussinrounds said:zehydra said:What else was worse? I mean, I know the world of Cyrrodil wasn't as cool as Morrowind's was, but I think they definitely did a good job at portraying the difference between the imperial world vs the Dunmer world.bussinrounds said:zehydra said:You guys think that Oblivion's combat was bad, go play Morrowind.
Oblivion's combat was INFINITELY better than Morrowinds.
I was a huge Morrowind fan at the time, so when I played Oblivion I saw the combat as a drastic improvement.
I still don't really have many qualms with it.
Yea, they improved the combat but everything else got worse. (except for the graphics that is)
Oblivion was so much more generic overall compared to Morrowind. It didn't have retarded ass level scaling , MW had better writing, more depth, less hand holding, you know, the same things that have been stated over and over again..
But I can't help but wonder if part of what contributed to the "generic-ness" of the world is largely caused by the fact that Cyrrodil was the Imperial-centric nation, and the Imperials, out of all the races from the Elder Scrolls are the most generic. That is, what one person might criticize as "generic medieval scenery" is actually just Bethesda keeping continuity with the Imperial style they set in Morrowind.
