Exactly. Why do people complain about good customer after care?Frost27 said:What's wrong with a day 1 patch? With the amount of time it takes to burn the number of DVDs and blu-ray discs for every copy of the game, package them, send them to a distributor, and then get them shipped to the individual stores by release day, it stands to reason what was in about three weeks ago is what is on the disk. I would call it a good thing that the quality control process didn't stop there.
Particularly given the track record of the stability of the Fallout installments they have released.

Would they prefer it to ship with bugs that were never fixed?
Would they prefer it to be delayed?
There could well be a patch after this day 1 patch...
You know what shows MORE effort to fix the bugs before the game comes out? Releasing games that don't require day 1 patches.alrekr said:Is the patch a bad things; not really shows that there's been some effort to fix the bugs before the game comes out(The version that ships is probably a few weeks seeing as it takes around that to ship it out in time for a release day).
Most bethesda bugs people talk about are of the 'this engine is shit' or 'wtf save fail' variety, which have nothing to do with the size of the game world.getoffmycloud said:Well considering most games have a day one patch because of the time it takes to make all the discs and ship them off to stores all over the world what do you think the development team is doing between that time and release date having a big paper fight no they are still testing the game especially a big open world game like skyrim you could probabley test that for 2 years and still be finding bugs
The sad part is that I could totally see something like that happening with all seriousness on the internet.Frost27 said:[Sarcasm]
WHAT?!?
You mean I may be forced to sit through a two minute download and install process one day out of the blue just to improve overall gameplay performance?!? How dare they interrupt the normal use and access of a product I have paid money for just to add benefits I won't notice because they will no longer be broken. They don't have the right! They should have released a 100% product on release day since any competent game studio has the ability to find all of the bugs that millions of players carrying out millions of random unforseen actions will find in normal play, I mean, It's NORMAL PLAY. Now they want to delay my bought and paid for gaming because they dropped the ball?? I want to play NOW and any delay us unacceptable!!

You realize that was a joke right? Or do people not make jokes about Horse Armor anymore?Naeo said:I also like how OP jumps at "substantial DLC = horse armor,"
DLC instead of patches? The goal overall is not necessarily to put out more content, but to make the game better.
If only.bauke67 said:So, everyone, I'm not quite sure how to create a forum thread, but..
In the Netherlands, people can already buy and play Skyrim, I've seen a copy of it myself.
I pre-ordered from the UK so, I'm gonna have to wait.
Have you played any last gen games? Or games that don't get patched?DracoSuave said:Also, there was a time when game companies could press their discs and get them manufactured without bugginess requiring patches.
