Hey Bethesta!

You know this game you keep patching?

You know it came out 6 months ago and you're still fixing glitches and technical issues with it?

Sort it out! Once and for all!

I'd say on the whole Bethesda has a much better track record for the games they've made.

Obsedian's lineup consists of so many rushed sequels and unfinished experiences. A lot of their games have community made mods that finish and add back in content Obseidan couldn't.
1. Obsidian*

2. Every Bethesda game from Morrowind onward has had a communtiy made mod too.

That's just pathetic. Annoying shit like this makes me wonder why anyone would consider Obsidian to be a competent studio, let alone good.

Seriously, are you just leaving the bugs in there to make headlines... because it must take alot of effort to release every single damn thing broken.

I've still not played New Vegas again because every time I play I always experience a game breaking bug.
This is not helping my confidence with either New Vegas or Obsidian as a games studio

I think they are too in love with their older games, which weren't quite as bad (black isle old fo1/2 bg kind of stuff) that and they give them too much credit for their ambitions.

Sure, it's nice to find people who have good, impressive ideas on paper, but they really ought to figure out how to make the things work.

They reach so much for the stars that they don't pay attention to the important details that will make their space rockets actually get them there in one piece.
If they were in the space travel business, 90% of the world's astronauts would be dead.

People need to start realizing that this is Obsidian working on this game, not Bethesda. Obsidian made the fallout series but grew jealous of Bethesda when they made the series memorable with Fallout 3. So then Obsidian was all like, hey, let us use your engine that we have no experience with. That is why the game is so buggy and to be frank, so mediocre. I just hope Bethesda is working on the next fallout alone.

This is what has put me off of buying the new DLC. The game is just bug-riddled and it really has clouded my opinion of the game to the extent that I just can't pick it up and play it any more.

People said Fallout 3 was buggy but I experienced nothing that wasn't aesthetic, New Vegas on the other hand has just been insane.

It's frustrating really, because I really enjoyed it at first.
Exactly. I remember bugs in Fallout 3 but they never deterred me from playing it like they have in New Vegas.

The bright side to it was about every 2 hours I was forced to restart the console, lending to smoke breaks.

...And the Escapist was up in arms over Dragon Age 2, saying it was the worst RPG ever.

At least BioWare TESTS their games before launch! Bethesda...not so much. And yet where is the furor for their buggy RPG's? I know that Obsidian developed New Vegas, but I've seen similar bugs in Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

I'm half-expecting there to actually be Tentacle Bears in Skyrim- because of graphical bugs

Bethesda isn't the problem; every game Obsedian makes has complaints of being rushed and bug riddled.

Bethesda made games are better. Not perfect. But better.
True.

I have never heard the level of complaints about a Bethesda game as I have Obsidians, anecdotal experiences aside. Bethesda's games are truly massive, and do tend to suffer from bugs because of it, without a doubt they could do better, but the level of problems has never reached that of Obsidians.

And on an anecdotal level, myself, my partner, and two of our friends all bought Neverwinter Nights 2 by them, and all four of us found that our copies could not even be installed legitimately because they were so poorly done even the registration keys were improperly distributed. The game itself, after days of negotiating their (lack of) customer support to get it running, was a terrible, buggy mess that just stunned and amazes us to this day.

Really makes me long for the days of Bethesda's "ruining" the Fallout franchise with Fallout 3.

Don't get me wrong, Fallout New Vegas is--bugs aside--a great game, in many ways better than Fallout 3. The problem being the bugs are hard to put aside and a direct sequel (game mechanics wise) SHOULD be better, that's the base assumption when you're working with tools already provided. You use the experiences and feedback of the first time to make the next game better, more robust.

Obsidian failed to do that. I know fans have all the excuses in the world for why Obsidian is "off the hook" on making a terribly buggy game, such as: "They were using another designers game engine!" "Their publisher didn't give them the time/funds necessary to do it!" etc.. But these all fall short when you realize that Obsidian has had the same exact issues with every different publisher, while other design teams haven't.

At some point you have to stop pointing the finger of blame elsewhere.
110% agree.

The fact that Obsidian keeps getting support after all this shit they've thrown on us is mind-boggling. It'd downright pathetic with how they release their games in such a shoddy state. Simply pathetic.

Fallout 3 had its bugs, but nowhere near the extent that New Vegas has. It's absolutely atrocious how they let these simple bugs make their way into the game, there should be no reason for a save-corrupting bug to make it to a game, what, 3 times now? For most every single DLC?

They really better clean up their act, and their games, because I'm pretty sure in the next few games they've got they'll be on thin ice. If they can't produce even a decently coded game by that time, I'm pretty sure all hope is lost for Obsidian, which would be a shame because their games are fun once you strip down the bugs. Which Obsidian should to right from the get go.

Ouch. That's just not on. Why was this allowed out to the public? Surely testing would pick that up... Sheesh.
"Testing" isnt something Bethesda do. They like to give the greatest gift of all to their fans, the gift of "surprise". Others (the fans for example) would perhaps consider this gift to be more "frustration" however. :p
Eh, it's more of a Schrödinger's Cat situation. It's both a surprise, and frustration, until you encounter the problem. Then it's either ^^

Err...WHAT?!?
DA2 had more than it's fair share of bugs. Also, it was, quite literally, half a game. Remember all them endlessly repeating zones? Worst RPG ever? Hell no. Bottom 10? Sure.

Isnt it great that Bethesda KEEP doing this. To be honest I think im more annoyed at the people who buy it right away, I never buy Fallout DLC for at least 2 weeks after release... although if everyone did this then there would be no one to complain about the bugs sooooooooo yeah, maybe I should just shut up and let people get on with it.
