I've always thought that Bethesda was one of those good yet lazy developers that bring out a game once a year, but that thought was extinquished when I saw 5 good looking titles by Bethesda out this year.
Prey 2, RAGE, Skyrim, Brink & Hunted:The Demon's Forge.
I love Bethesda, and I'm happy to see that they're bringing out more games that look good, I've already ordered Brink and I'm definetly buying Skyrim, I've also had a look a Hunted and liked it.
Anyway, what are your thoughts on these games, you getting them or not. So on so forth.

:)

You do realize that out of all those games that only one of them is actually being developed by Bethesda? Just wanted to point that out.

Skyrim - published by Bethesda Softworks and developed by Bethesda Game Studios.

Brink - published by Bethesda and developed by Splash Damage.

Prey 2 - published by Bethesda and developed by Human Head.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge - published by Bethesda and developed by inXile.

RAGE: published by Bethesda and developed by id Software.

As everyone else is pointed out.

Bethesda is only developing one game, the rest are being published by them.

Still, every single one of them looks brilliant.

Would you rather they release an Elder Scrolls every single year? I'd say making three good games this gen is better than making a mediocre one every year.

And to everyone else: Bethesda Softworks (the developer) typically spends 5-6 years on each game. We should be DAMNED GRATEFUL for that, not like those BioWare and Treyarch gits who spew out a 20 hour campaign every year.
Motherf-, can't people stop putting down Bioware for one goddamn day? Jesus, it's become fucking routine since Dragon Age 2. Yes, I'm sorry you don't like DA2 now shut up and move on.
Well I don't enjoy short, linear, teenager flirt games, so this is pretty much my opinion of their entire catalogue the last 5 years.
Everyone deserves their own opinions, but you don't need to yell it to everyone that passes by. This thread is about Bethesda, not you're insecurity towards games you probably haven't played.

Bioware consists of four different studios, whereas Bethesda (dev) only consists of one.

Therefore there is only logical that Bioware makes more games.

I use strange words today.

However, Bethesda owns Splash Damage and id.

Treyarch released a 20 hour campaign? That's like... four times as long as normal. At best.

I wouldn't call Bethesda lazy. Those who look back after the fact never seem to 'get it' like those of us who were there, but Morrowind and even Oblivion were both amazing games that really raised the stakes for what we expect out of developers today. Bethesda puts out great games that offer a few thing's no one else can. They're willing to try new things, even when it drives their fans crazy. I would much rather have awesome Bethesda games at a snail's pace than the same old derp year after year like all the other developers.

It's like how everyone rags on Oblivion's voice acting now, but back when the game came out it was like nothing we had ever seen. We were blown away.

So... taking their time when making richly detailed and immersive games with hundreds of hours of game-play means that Bethesda is lazy?

So what I've taken away from this thread is that Bethesda is only developing one of those games.
