Heh, it's become a habit for me - so instinctual that I spot by default even in Hardcore with no map XD
Loving the game, but I can see that it might not be for everyone, especially if you are more used to straight forward run n gunning a la CoD, or something.
I found Battlefield Bad Company 2 to be alright. I never played the multiplayer but the single player was good and the game-play was pretty nice too, except for all the dust.
One thing that really irked me is that there is never any mention of what happened in the first game. What happened to all that gold they found? That is a massive plot hole. Plus, why is Russia invading at the end of the game? There is no need for it.
Why is Sweetwater not a whiny coward anymore?

Why does Sgt. Redford suddenly care about the team?

Why isn't Haggard a dumb redneck obsessed with blowing stuff up all the time anymore?

Why does Marlow suddenly have a personality?

What happened with that little country the Legionnaire Mercs took over? Don't get me wrong Bad Company 2's single player certainly isn't bad or unplayable. It just seems like there was some major character and plot development in between one and two. Whatever happened between one and two is probably a game I would have much rather played. As for why America is at war with Russia, they never really explained it in the Battlefield series. I guess DICE figured it's better to give no reason rather than a stupid reason.
As for the dust I don't know why everyone complains about it. That smoke and dust is very useful cover. I've literally won games using the smoke and dust.
Also why didn't they bring Mike-One-Juliet back? She was awesome.
Sorry, typed that all out real quick before work. Wasn't implying that you were implying that I was a tard. I was just explaining that I don't play the game like it's CoD, and I had the ratio backwards... 1:3 is what I meant.
Yeah, I guess I just need to unlock more stuff... That's another beef I had with the game... This new method irks me... I like the "take a point and put it where ever the frick you want to" thing they had before...
As for the dust I don't know why everyone complains about it. That smoke and dust is very useful cover. I've literally won games using the smoke and dust.
Indeed! Everyone complains about snipers, but the smoke and dust is an excellent way of moving through the levels and avoiding sniper fire. I barely get sniped nowadays. Just think a bit more tactically.
Also, I must admit, the game is tough to start with. The starting weapons are just ehhh and it takes a while to unlock the really good stuff.
I think the multiplayer is freaking amazing, probably 'cus it's the only online multi I've played, but still, it is very balanced, except for a small thing. Stabbing your enemy three times and he's still not dead pisses me off so much, though it happens rarely, it still bothers me.
The starting sniper is the best bolty other than the M95, so...
Anyway, play for an hour with a class and you'll both learn it and get some decent stuff. For assualt the XM8 will carry you all the way to the M416, for example, which is a lot of leveling.
I never really liked medic.
The engineers are weird, some times amazing, sometimes awful.
For taking down helicopters, I find it's much easier (and more satisfying) to use the tracer dart first, and then follow up with an RPG/Carl Gustav. The only disadvantage is it gives the enemy longer to abandon their helicopter, but it doesn't really matter since they invariably get gunned down within seconds of jumping out.
