Atheism is NOT a religion, it is the lack thereof. "a-theism"
Actually, alot of people say otherwise. Technically, Atheism is a belief in nothing, hence, still a belief.
No, atheism is the lack of a belief.

You're not required to believe anything to be an Atheist.

Huh...
At first I was sure this was satirical.
I'm not sure of anything anymore.

As for the other question: What he said:

I don't believe IN nothing though, I just do not have any religious beliefs.
It's not the belief in nothing it's simply the lack of belief whatsoever. It's not active.

By definition, atheism is not a lack of belief. It's a particular stance. It's a denial of theism, hence a-theist.

Lack of belief in God is not the same as lack of belief in general. That's very, very different.

I've heard of this. Could you believe there is a video game based on this? I remember watching some religious themed videos back in Hebrew school. A lot of them were almost as cheesy, but some of the cartoons based on the more interesting portions of the Tenach were kick-ass. Besides, anyone else think a Christian superhero should be fighting awesome demons instead of goofy villains who couldn't hurt a butterfly? Hellboy could kick this guy's ass any day of the week.

Why does everyone in this thread keep going on about how atheism is not a religion/belief? It's unrelated to the topic at hand, and there's really no better way to classify it without making long-winded exceptions all the time.

Anyway, I booted up five seconds of this and then stopped it. Power Rangers probably teaches morals in a better way than this show does (and at least I can watch that without wincing at how corny it is half the time.)

I agree with this guy. There should be demons and ultraviolence! If Bibleman was more like Anti-Spawn, that'd make him actually very, very cool, but this is so campy it makes the 60's Batman look true to the comics...

That's my opinion on the matter anyway.

As for Bibleman, sorry, I watched the first one and just...too corny. The ending? Urgh. That's just terrible. Seriously.

Perhaps you should look into the Battle Pope comics. It's about as sacriligious as they come though.

And yes, Bibleman is terrible. It probably steered more kids away from religion than it pulled in.

OK, a quick google search is proving very interesting, and will probably keep me amused for a good few hours! Cheers for the heads up :D

ok, here is my opinion on it. i am a christian, and i watched it a few times as a kid in kiddy church when the pastor didnt have a message for us that week. its a terribly made show, with cheesy acting, classically retarded villains, and a mix of star wars and batman action. apart from the terrible quality of a show it also has many facts mixed up about Christianity. overall its just a bad show.

Jesus Christ this is silly. It's an admirable idea to reach out to children with something they would like but this isn't it.

So when the show's main "villain" does something that contradicts Christianity, it's up to bibleman to force his facist Christian opinion upon him and all the kids in the audience? That's terrible. Any parent who condones this show isn't fit to have a child.

Children shows should try to teach multiple viewpoints and tolerance, not this facist crap.

If you're going to get ideas for topics from Brooker, at least have the decency to reference the man.
