Welp, Biden is pretty much the democratic presidential nominee since it looks like Bernie is dropping out.

Like it or not Biden is the best bet for beating trump. Personally I wanted Warren to win but that didn't work out and the safe bet who was the safe bet since he entered the race has ended up being the safe bet.

EDIT: Bernie officially endorses Biden.

COVID-19 has made Trump look like an absolute ass, and so I don't think he will be re-elected after all.

Biden has the same chance of beating Trump that Hilary did. None.
Corporate Democrats just threw the election away again. Makes you wonder if they think its better for Trump to win than risk Bernie winning.
Except you are ignoring a lot of issues. Hillary had been on the republican hit list since the 90s, shes been probably the most targeted politician in the country and she still won the popular vote. Not to mention that like it or not Biden really did bring out the voters and Bernie didn't.

Biden is also a mentally broken, dementia-riddled senior citizen with now multiple sexual assault accusations against him. Not to mention his past voting record and stances on issues are seen as questionable, if not down right Republican.
Bernie had none of those flaws. Trump is going to eat Biden alive. Its going to be sad watching debates where Donald fucking Trump comes off as the smart one.

Seriously? This is the guy you think can beat Trump?

He has a speech impediment that makes it take him a bit longer to talk, he was the vice president of Obama, and he destroyed Bernie in the voting. This is what the people voted for. I mean the debates with trump will probably be bloody but debates don't really matter since Hillary won pretty much each one she and trump were involved in. Also, any weird baggage that Biden has, trump has 10 fold.

This really is important. The Clinton Body Count crap has been around for a long ass time.

Has it? Last I heard his approval ratings were since the election, but that may have been a week ago.

Well, this situation sucks. It really does. I'm going to vote for Biden simply due to what could happen if he doesn't win. I know some people like accelerationism, but I'm not there yet. It's a shame though that probably nothing will actually change the next four years if he does win though.

I think it really depends on how he can spin it and the memory of the american people. Like, if things get worse, hes done for, if they get better then it depends on the peoples will to hold him accountable for his fuck ups, and the annoying thing about trump is he is fantastically skilled at squirming his way out of his fuck ups and not being held accountable.

I have a speech impediment. It doesn't mean I start saying random words, not finishing thoughts or sentences. Biden has dementia. He talks like my Grandma, who had a stroke.
And the baggage is just more ammo for Trump. Again Bernie didn't have any. Democrats are just shooting themselves in the foot by nominating him, let alone handing the election to Trump.

When it comes to rape allegations, it doesn't matter if it's 7 or 15, because you're still electing a possible rapist no matter the headcount.

But I am seeing far too many liberal feminists and "moderate" Americans dismiss Tara Reade's confession or bury their heads in the sand and act like nothing's happening. Whatever happened to #MeToo and #IBelieveHer? Such grand hypocrisy. It sickens me to the very core. The audacity too, of having witnessed Biden supporters call her a Russian plant. These people single-handedly betrayed every single rape victim whose voice gets silenced or stigmatized as a liar. For Joe goddamn Biden.

Yeah, rambling, incoherent, and incomplete thoughts are not a stutter.

he destroyed Bernie in the voting.
He destroyed Bernie among Democratic stalwarts that will vote on the Democratic ticket no matter who's on it. He has not demonstrated that he'll get the key swing votes that American presidential elections come down to. And he has a whole 'nother half year for his poor mental state to worsen.

I supported Bernie, although I wasn't convinced he'd beat Trump like a lot of his stalwarts were. I supported Bernie for his policies and reformist message. Biden may not have quite as much baggage as Hillary, but he has a lot, his mental state is clearly in a bad place compared to Hillary, and he's going against an incumbent president, and outside of special circumstances the incumbent always has a big advantage. Whether Covid-19 will be a set of special circumstances that force Trump out is up in the air and comes down to how well Trump can deflect blame for his poor response to it. Unfortunately, Trump has exactly 2 strengths: bullying, and blame deflecting. Dems insist on strategies that target his strengths, rather than his many, many weaknesses, and I do believe they'll be punished for it for a second time in a row.

He has a stutter and one methods of trying to overcome it is to swap words from the one you are getting stuck on to a different one. I remember rumors going around about Hillary being sick and almost dead before the 2016 election so you will have to forgive me if I disregard some of this.

Bernie has arguably more damaging baggage, calling himself a socialist. There are a lot of people who are still just rabidly anti-socialist. We don't know how the republicans would hit Bernie if he was the nominee but you can bet they would dig up more then you would think, not to mention just making shit up like they did with Hillary.

Welp, it comes down to this. Biden is getting the nomination. So you can either vote for the lesser of 2 evils or let the guy who has way more then one rape allegation against him.

You could just not vote, but that is kind of a vote for trump since republicans tend to win more when fewer people vote. Its a sucky situation but its the situation.

Are you seriously suggesting being accused of raping someone is preferable than being a socialist?

And no, as someone who has gone through speech therapy you don't just sub randoms words. You know the words you struggle with, and how your lisp comes off and avoid them. If Joe Biden is really subbing words in as his stutter comes to the fore, then he's stuttering on every word.

"We cannot let this, we’ve never allowed any crisis from the Civil War straight through to the pandemic of 17, all the way around, 16, we have never, never let our democracy sakes second fiddle, way they, we can both have a democracy and ... correct the public health "

That's not a coherent sentence, let alone a full thought. That's not a stutter anymore than Trump's skin is naturally orange.

This isn't a damn contest. That one has more rape allegations does not change the fact that the other also has fucking rape allegations too.

What's next? Vote for the rapist with the better policies? How about not voting for a rapist at all?

It looks like Biden is doing pretty good. If you care so much about Biden's mental state then you should be paying close attention to who his running mate is.

Yeah, this is a contest, all politics is a contest and this is how the contest will be going. One candidate has rape allegations and so does the other, so which one will it be? The one who also seems to be all about taking away a womans rights or the one that doesn't?

Are you seriously suggesting being accused of raping someone is preferable than being a socialist?

To some segments of the US population, yeah. I mean you seem to be ignoring how much baggage trump has and how little that seemed to matter to a lot of people. Which is especially strange since they claim to be the party that is all about faith and morals. Hillary didn't have any rape allegations against her and she still technically lost.

I get that both of you don't like Biden, I don't either, I wanted Warren to win. But you are also sounding like you are planning on voting for trump. So just think about that.

People think the Dems are shooting themselves in the foot, but this isn't true.

Dems win no matter who wins now, the Democrats have long become the other corporate party who just lie to you about wanting to help. No matter what, the Dems jobs are secure and the little people will stay in their place where they Belong™.

Personally I'll be voting Green or do a write in or something. I have a strict "no voting for rapist" policy that I don't plan on violating to vote for a Republican.

Who remembers the polls trumpeting Hillary's inevitable victory?

I absolutely am, and am of the opinion that his choice of VP is largely going to dictate whether he can win over the more progressive wings of the party or not.

Actually the polls were pretty close to being the outcome. They just didn't really factor in the electoral college enough since trump won 8 swing states.
