Actually the correct ending was filmed, but discarded for being too contreversial with the audience. Apperatly killing them all is less contreversial than understading them.

Mindhunters was a great movie, but the end sucked because of the cheesiest one liner I have ever heard...

The killer uses the weaknesses of all the other FBI profilers to kill them... and at the end after they killed the bad guy one guy said "I guess we know what his weakness is... bullets."

Again, loved the movie... but that one line makes me want to never watch it again.

I mean come on!!! It's a perfectly... interesting... movie with the classic Indy storyline: Look for archaeological artifact, have relative/good friend and love interest accompany him, have bad people try to take artifact for malicious purposes, add in aliens... umm, WTF!!!

Starship Troopers

The main part of the film was great, but I thought I'd fallen asleep and missed a chunk towards the end when suddenly "Oh hey we've caught the giant thing that controlled everything but was previous unmentioned and now all the creatures are dead". WTF? Learn how to close a film properly you muppets...

Um...no. The Movie states clearly that the "giant thing" (actually called Brain Bug) is also just one of many others, so the war goes on. However, it was a strategic win given that they know can experiment on one of those things to figure out how the aliens work. Also, it was mentioned beforehand. It was theorized somewhere early in one of the news reports, and the whole mission in the end revolved around finding one of these things.

Then again, Starship Troopers isn't really about WHAT happens in the story, but rather HOW...

The alternate ending is better by far. Buy the DVD and you'll see what I mean..
