The Matrix Movies. Any of them.
I didn't think the first one was that bad, it was the sequels that screwed it.
For me, the bullshit from the first movie's ending was that nothing really got resolved. Since I wasn't a fan of the first one, the idea of sequels was nothing short of horrible to me.

????????!!!
Read the book; it makes a lot more sense (though there still is some significant ????????!!!).
I did. The book does make more sense but this is a thread about movies. Since the book and the movie were released simultaneously, the audience probably hadn't read the book.

I was ready to name it my movie of the year...then...fricking aliens.

ALIENS AS THE REASON FOR A PLOT = BAD ENDING TO A MOVIE
That was the same problem I had with Indy 4.

OT:
-Any of the Star Wars Prequels come to mind, although those were also bad through-out
-The Bourne Ultimanum was dissatisfying to me in that it looked like a setup for another movie, but other than that it was fine
-Pirates 2 and 3
-10,000 BC
-Any Matrix Sequels

...that's all I can think of for now

10,000 BC just sucked.

I'd have to say...Knowing. Great movie, great CGI (I almost crapped myself when I saw that plane crash) but then (SPOILERS!!!) It gets all religious like with the aliens taking them to a new planet that's like the Garden of Eden and that prayer and faith kept them all together before they all died. Bullshit man, just bullshit

Anyone see the ending to War of the Worlds? If not, don't.
Agreed. Also, an additional thing that made me angry in the ending of the 2006 version is

the fact that the teenager survived! He was caught in a fucking explosion, and even if he survived that, he would be caught face-to-face with a giant death machine! I mean, we've established that the tripods take very few prisoners, and the few they take are likely experimented on/killed in a non-descript fashion! He should be a charred corpse, vaporized dust, a bloodless husk or a dead anal probe victim.
That, and why the fuck did the Tripods start breaking down? Well, ok, I know why but...

it's an enormous plot-hole! The aliens develop machines that shoot disintegration rays and nearly take over the earth, but they can't make protective suits? WTF is up with that?
This just in:
War of the Worlds is over 100 years old. It was originally a book and then a radio drama. People weren't exactly wearing biohazard suits on a regular basis back in the day. If you were surprised by the ending of the Tom Cruise version, then you're an idiot. I think the statute of limitations on spoilers expired for this one about 80 years ago (or more).

The Village. You should see the film, if only to just get blown away by the series of terrible plot twists leading up to the sheer power of the Worst Ending Ever.
A buddy of mine called the plot twist after merely seeing a few previews of the movie. We saw it later and he was completely correct. Shamalamadingdong sucks fat hairy nads.

Transformers.

the villain gets the macguffin and act of getting the macguffin kills him. The heroes wasted 90 minutes trying to keep it from him.
Not really. They use it against him, it doesn't kill him itself.

If you've read something of literature you might see astounding likenesses between "Knowing" and Sir Arthur C. Clarke's "Childhood's End."

Any ending to any movie or video game or anything that ends with a cliffhanger and/or sequel hook when there's no f*ing guarantee that they'll even make a sequel. Sorry, but I like my closure.

@Bourne Ultimatum:

It was a set up. They're making a fourth one.

I thought it was pretty good until I realized that it was made for biblehumpers, by biblehumpers.
EDIT: Also, the alien plot was pretty shit.
By Biblehumpers you mean Christians or anti-Christians?

Because I'm a Christian and I thought it was the most ridiculous thing ever.

The Village, and Contact. Worst POS's ever.
I have to say, the Village was decent movie, but the ending was bullshit. It just loses all of its scariness and suspense when you realize what the monsters are. It's practically a more mature version of a fucking Scooby-Doo episode. And that's really pathetic. Especially since it's nothing like Shyamalan's other moves due to the fact that you're not scared by it by the end. At all.

Now, House of Flying Daggers was another good movie with a retarded ending.
Not only does the lead female character die (which I expected, usually everybody dies in Chinese movies), but so many ends are left loose. You see the military descending on Nia's hideout but the actual battle is never shown. Jin and Leo chop the fuck out of each other and the last scene of the film just has them both stumbling about in the snow, badly wounded. Do they die? It looked like Leo was trying to go somewhere--where was he going and did he survive? And what the hell happened to Nia and the Flying Daggers??
At least in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, it was obvious who died and who lived. And it had an almost happy ending. HoFD had a WTF ending that still managed to be depressing.

Also, Monty Python's The Holy Grail turned me ten shades of furious. You should know why.
GAH YES. Holy crap. I know it was supposed to be a parody and everything, but I was all geared up for a kickass battle at the end....if the damn police had showed up after they stormed the castle and then confiscated the grail from Arthur, that would have been more funny and generally less disappointing. Those damn Brits and their illogical sense of humor(jk).
