What game was the biggest disappointment for you in 2010? Mine was, without a doubt, Final Fantasy XIII. It's the only FF game I have yet to complete, and I don't think I ever will. What about you guys? Any games you had high hopes for and were completely let down by last year?

That Gears of War 3 was delayed. Everything else more or less met expectations, though I agree it that I was expecting FFXIII to be better.

I wasn't disappointed by any games this year, because I make a point of only getting excited for good games. It sounds stupid, but I've never been excited for a game I didn't end up liking.

ay, The Ball. The description I got off it made it out like a good puzzle game with decent fighting system. But I found the puzzles way to easy and just trying to squash mummies all the time gets boring.

Metroid Other M...though I say that tentatively. There are many other disappointments I can name for 2010, but this one is the biggest for me.

I say tentatively because I had mixed feelings about this game from the start; when it was announced.
Why? Because it was Team Ninja. I've played Ninja Gaiden Black. I know their style and portrayal of women.
I also knew they wouldn't be able to do Samus's character justice, but had hoped that Nintendo would step in and keep that image alive (can't believe I'm defending corporate prerogative, but this is a unique case).

Nope. They screwed the pooch, and screwed it HARD. They totally ruined her character, and fuck me if this isn't going to be the canonical black eye that follows Metroid to the grave.

Crackdown 2.

It kinda sucked.
Ditto. Though still had a few merits. Not more than the first game though.

I forgot about the game's existance. Ooops o_O

Mine is a tie between Crackdown 2, and Empire Total War/Napoleon Total War. Don't know if the latter two count, so I will go with Crackdown 2, as it's the only one I can remember playing and being disappointed by somewhat. Though it was fun to screw around with friends still. I never played it once on my own after first doing coop though. And haven't played it in months.

Enslaved... it was 5 hours of bland combat, schizophrenic characters and finished with a Deus Ex machina that doesn't make any sense... and I was looking forward to it so much...<.<

Though FF13 and Crackdown 2 are right up there, I'd have to say All Points Bulletin.

The character creation was amazing, but once into the game it sucked majorly.
Maybe I wouldn't have been quite as upset if there hadn't been a review embargo until 1-week-after-launch. Yeah, dumb idea that.

Probably Dragon Age Awakening and other DLC for it. I don't really buy games I'm not going to like, and I don't tend to get myself hyped up over many things either. However after really enjoying Origins, the expansion and the cruddy DLC released was just really disappointing.

Mass Effect 2.

I might be one of the few, but the excitement I felt walking home that day imagining all the cool stuff I could do died over the course of actually playing it.

The whole fucking year. Full of disappointments. The one specific game I'm thinking of, though, is Gran Turismo 5. Frankly, they should have concentrated on getting as many cars as possible up to proper standards, and perhaps introduced other cars through updates later. There doesn't seem to be a lot of sense in having 1,000 cars if only 200 don't look as if they were directly ported over from the PS2.
This, This 1000 times. Being a GT fanboy I ignored the fact most of the cars were ports, but im just gonna admit they took freaking years to make that game, and for most of the cars to look like a PS2 game its just not good enough. Oh and half of the tracks are track from GRAN TURISMO 1? WTF?

Argh. Dissapoint. Epic dissapoint.

I'll probably go for the new Alien vs Predator. I'm a BIG fan of the Alien and Predator franchises, and in the build up for this the screenshots that were released looked incredible. Ofcourse, they were pre-rendered.

I thought it was gonna play around with all the elements from the franchises like the previous AvP games did, but it took no risks. Remember in AvP 2 playing as a Facehugger? Then a Chestburster? The most fun to be had in the new one is the Predator campaign, which I think was one of the few parts of the game that nailed what it was trying to do.

Online is fun, but due to a lack of patches it's laggy and there's barely anyone playing.
I don't hate it, but I was very disappointed

Splinter Cell: Conviction. It did to the series what Kingdom of the Crystal Skull did to Indiana Jones.

Getting to the Hoover Dam on New Vegas. The rest of the game was great but I hate it when games crap all over themselves for the final portion, making you fight wave after wave of ridiculously powerful enemies whilst the rest of the game was anything but.

I had the same problem with the first Stalker game and Vampire: Bloodlines.
